Lin Zhaoyuan
Lin Zhaoyuan (1828-1886), whose name is Zhenbo, was born in Xitang Renjie, Shoufeng Town, Hezhou, Guangxi (now under the jurisdiction of Yongqing Village, Liantang Town, Babu District). He was a political figure in the Qing Dynasty and a governor of Guizhou. In 1884, he was dismissed from his post. After his illness and death, he was dismissed and restored to his original position. His second son was Lin Shitao.
Life of the characters
Lin Zhaoyuan, born in October 6, 1828, was born in Xitang, Shoufeng Town, Hezhou, Guangxi in Qing Dynasty. Lin Zhaoyuan studied martial arts in his junior school. He was literate and well read. When he was young, he went to Guilin Xiufeng academy to study. Xianfeng two years (1852) renzike examination in the Deputy list. In the seventh year of Xianfeng, he followed the Lin family to avoid war and entered Fuchuan and Jianghua, Hunan. In the ninth year of Xianfeng, the Lin family went to Changsha. In the tenth year of Xianfeng, his father Lin jungao died in Changsha. Forced by life, Lin Zhaoyuan, his younger brother Lin Zaiheng and cousin Lin Wuli joined Liu yuezhao (Yunnan political envoy) Department of Hunan army in Changsha. After joining the army, he was able to assist the military affairs because he had won the vice-president list, and soon became Liu yuezhao's effective staff and staff. He chose to follow the army by the state judge. Later, he was promoted all the way because of his military merit, and was awarded the military merit to Guizhou grain storage troops. In 1870, he moved to Guizhou as an envoy. In 1870, because he had made great contributions in suppressing bandits and raising money, the imperial court rewarded Lin Zhaoyuan with his head ornaments. On September 14, 1875, the first year of Guangxu (1875), Lin Zhaoyuan was promoted from an official to an official in Guizhou. On October 1, the seventh year of Guangxu reign, he was promoted from chief envoy to governor of Guizhou, and concurrently served as governor of Guizhou. Later, his wife and children died one after another and fell ill, neglecting government affairs, leading to the emptiness of Guizhou Treasury. In November of the ninth year of Guangxu, the imperial court dismissed Lin Zhaoyuan for impeachment. On the ninth day of the first month of the twelfth year of Guangxu (1886), he died of illness in Changsha. Li Hongzhang wrote an epitaph for him. In the winter of the same year, the Imperial Court reinstated him and restored him to his former official position. He also remembered his meritorious service in calming down the rebellion in Guizhou and presented him with a grade of official position.
Character achievement
After entering the military camp, Lin Zhaoyuan took part in the war of aiding Sichuan and Shaanxi, and made great contributions to the peace of Guizhou. After living in Guizhou for more than 20 years, he straightened out the official administration, taught the people how to raise silkworms, built water conservancy projects, stored Yicang to prepare for famine, bought books to train scholars, and set up Yixue in Miao Yao Minority areas. The people spontaneously raised money to build the ancestral temple for him. Zhao Yuan resolutely dissuaded him and built more than 200 li of tongzishan road and four stone bridges.

Lin Zhaoyuan's spouse is Zhou, and his second son is Lin Shitao. He was a Jinshi in the 30th year of Guangxu. He was a member of the Provisional Senate and a consultant to the Executive Yuan in the Republic of China.
