Lin zongchen (1133-1189), with the word Jinghe, was born in a Wulin family in Anhai, Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Song Dynasty. When he was young, he had extraordinary temperament and physical strength. Under the influence of his family, he began to practice martial arts since childhood and will serve the country in the future. In 1172, the eighth year of Qiandao in the Southern Song Dynasty, riding, shooting, and questioning were the first in the martial arts test.
Zhu Xi first awarded Xiangyang (today's Hubei) as an opportune official, and then promoted him to the cabinet. Lin zongchen was loyal, hardworking and upright. When the court was talking about it, his words were fierce. He pointed out that Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Tingzhou had bad policies. He was deeply indignant and dared to point at the treacherous officials in the court, which was praised by Zhu Xi. When Lin zongchen came out to know Qinzhou of Guangxi, he made a detailed investigation of the border defense situation. After several demonstrations, he played a role in the imperial court, which provided detailed first-hand information for the Song court to strengthen border defense. In the ninth year of Chunxi (1182), he served as the Deputy Supervisor of weapons, assisting Huang Ding in the manufacture of weapons for military use. In 1172, song Gaozong died of illness. Lin zongchen helped Chen resist the Jin Dynasty, accompanied Chen Liang to inspect the fortresses of Jianghuai front line, deeply studied and analyzed the current situation of Jin, and played song Xiaozong. He pointed out that the internal contradictions of Jin were fierce and the political situation was unstable. The imperial court should actively prepare for the northern expedition. However, his ideas were opposed by the moderates and he was unable to display his ambition. Finally, he died in office at the age of 56.
