Lin Qidong, born in October 1930, took part in the revolution in 1951. At that time, he was a soldier of Dongshan County public security squadron of Fujian provincial public security force of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. On July 16, 1953, Kuomintang troops mobilized the army, navy and air force to attack Dongshan Island on a large scale. Lin Qidong died in the battle of defending Dongshan Island and resisting the invading enemy.
