Yang Guangyi, with the name of Xiangyin, was born in the late Qing Dynasty. His ancestral home is Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. He set up a school in Tianjin to teach students. He once taught Fu Ren Academy. He has many talents and outstanding people. He is Hua Shikui in the north and Wu Changshuo in the south. A South and a North, very famous, known as "North South Wu.".
Yang Guangyi (1822-1900) was born in Tianjin. The ancestors moved to Tianjin from Yiwu, Zhejiang, and became rich in salt. To his father's generation, his family was in decline. He received books from his father when he was young. 20 years for the county students, 30 people in the middle school. The election made up for the loss of education in Dongguang County. Later, he failed in the examination, so he decided not to pursue his official career. He set up a school in Tianjin to receive apprentices, and taught Fu Jen college. Most of the scholars in Tianjin were in the school. Wu Changshuo, a famous marine calligrapher, was his disciple. In his later years, he joined hands with Mei Baolu, Yu Tuku, Yi Jikun and others to sing for wine. His works include maoxuezhai Chinese, Jinmen poetry sequel and Bilang qiaxiangguan poetry notes. He is the most famous poet in Modern Tianjin after Mei Chengdong.
