Character experience
Shi Niang is determined to entrust her life to Li Jia. The procuress agreed that as long as Li Jia took out three hundred taels of silver in ten days, she could redeem ten niangs. But he has long been nostalgic for brothels, and has become a bad reputation among his relatives and friends. No one is willing to lend him money.
After several days, Li Jia still couldn't get the silver. At this time, Shi Niang took out a total of 150 liang of broken silver she had saved for many years and handed it to him. Li Jia's good friend Liu Yuchun was moved by the woman's behavior and managed to scrape up the remaining 150 taels of silver. Ten days later, Li Jia gave all the money to the procuress. She wanted to go back, but after hearing Du Shiniang's advice, she had to let go.
So two lovers married in Liu Yuchun's house. After the marriage, Du Shiniang planned to go to her hometown with Li Jiaben, but Li Jia was worried, afraid of returning with prostitutes, and could not explain to her father. Du Shiniang offered advice and said, "Lang Jun can visit Suzhou and Hangzhou first, then go home and ask his relatives and friends to persuade him to be obedient in front of his father. When Li's father calms down, he will pick me up again." Li Jia followed his orders.
When they arrived at gudu in Guazhou, they met Sun Fu, a lecherous and insidious rich man. When he came back to the boat at night, he was moved by Du Shiniang's singing. After daybreak, from the window to see its appearance, feel more swayed. Sun Fu pretended to be close to Li Jia, drinking and talking freely. When talking about Du Shiniang, Li Jia told him the whole story. Sun Fu sighed: respect your father, how can you marry a prostitute! At that time, we are in a dilemma. Will we not end up being unfaithful, unfilial and unrighteous?! When he said this, Li Jia felt even more difficult, and Sun Fu took out a posture that he was willing to do everything for his friends and said, "I'm willing to give you a thousand dollars. You take the money back and just say that your father will forgive you if you teach in Beijing. Li Jia's words moved his heart. He had been afraid that he would not be able to make a job when he got home, and now it's the only way. So he made a contract and sold Du Shiniang to Sun Fu.
Hearing this, Du Shiniang recalled that she had been sold and humiliated in her childhood. She finally escaped from the fire and was about to live a happy life. The next day, Du Shiniang dressed up and asked Sun Fu to put the silver on Li Jia's boat. Standing on the pedal, he opened the treasure chest, which was full of gold, silver and jade. Pointing at the priceless gold, silver and jewelry, Du Shiniang scolds Sun Fu for breaking up their husband and wife, and scolds Li Jia for being ungrateful and greedy. She throws treasures into the river and finally jumps into the rolling waves.
