Introduction to the manor
Longxi aristocratic manor is divided into three parts: main building, garden and stables, covering an area of 4.2 mu, with a total of 58 rooms. Manor is the historical witness of the rise and fall of the Lishi family in Longxi.
The origin of manor
The Li family in Longxi rose in 1768, the 33rd year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. Li Yufang, the ancestor, was granted the title of "yunqiwei" by the emperor because of his meritorious service in the war. Li Xianzhi, his son, was also granted the title of "yanwang Tuba general". Later, he became a hereditary chieftain for several generations. Li Youfu, the last descendant of the Longxi family, took the measures of eating black food, smuggling salt, doing business and running factories after he came to power. In a short period of more than ten years, he completed the original accumulation of capital and made the Li family become rich step by step. In the winter of 1938, Li Youfu planned to build a "Longxi aristocratic" manor, and brought red Maoni (now "cement") from the provincial capital by horse Gang to make iron in Shilihe to make artificial steel bars for building houses. After five years of hard work, in the spring of 1943, the Tusi manor in the depth of Ailao Mountain was finally built.
Architectural pattern
The architectural style of the manor is inseparable from the background of the times. In order to improve the defense function, Li Youfu adopted the European medieval castle style. From the appearance, the manor has a thick wall base, a tall external wall, and a magnificent European style gate with a pointed roof. There are gun holes on both sides of the door, on the back gable and on the left and right gallery walls. The site selection, layout and structure of the manor are also very elegant. It is close to Baihu cliff of Baihu mountain in the west, and the door faces east. It has a bird's-eye view of gasaba and the Red River Valley, which makes the manor form a trend of depending on mountains in the West and controlling Pingchuan in the East. The whole manor has compact structure and complete functions. The main body of the manor is divided into five parts: the square in front of the gate, the front yard, the middle yard, the courtyard and the main hall. During the construction, the craftsmen take the advantage of the mountain and go deep into the manor layer by layer. The three courtyards and one hall have different styles. The cycads, orchids and osmanthus fragrance in the courtyard make the manor quiet and elegant. On the upper left is Yanghui garden, a place for people to enjoy, play and rest. On the right side is the warehouse and kitchen, which is specially used for storing and cooking food, so it has many functions, such as sightseeing, appreciation, rest, residence, defense and so on. Its style can be summed up in 16 words: "complete and balanced, spacious and applicable, Chinese and western, just like compact."
Art treasures
Longxi aristocratic manor is a Grand View Garden of traditional culture and art such as sculpture, painting and calligraphy in Xinping. Although the manor experienced the turmoil of the "Cultural Revolution" and many ancient buildings, calligraphy and painting works were destroyed to varying degrees, the surviving residual carvings, paintings and inks in the manor are still the art treasures of sculpture, painting and calligraphy in Xinping today. The sculpture in the garden is divided into marble relief and Toona wood carving. Marble relief works, throughout the square guardrail, gantry vault, pillar cornerstone, flower stand and other places. For example, the relief of the twelve zodiac animals on the top of the square guardrail, the picture of clam and snipe fighting, the picture of fairy deer and toad, the picture of dragon leaping into the sea on the Xumi seat of the gate, and the picture of Tang monks and disciples taking scriptures on the vault of the gate all show the craftsman's skills and skills. The wood carving of Toona sinensis is the best carving art in the garden, especially the six gold screen doors in the main hall. Among them, the best works are the tour of gentry, the rent of tenant, the singing of plum by magpie, the spring outing of young women with children and the hunting of fish by crane. The calligraphy and painting works in the garden are the works of local cultural celebrities Pu Hongwu, Zhu Mingwei and Li Jimei. For example, the painting of floating ocean, the painting of crossing crane and blowing flute, the painting of Zhaojun going out of the fortress, the painting of visiting Chibi at night and the painting of Xiangyuan Yiqing are all excellent works. Calligraphy works are about the quiet farming life of the villagers, such as "a plow of spring rain moistened dust-free, sunny after someone green farming.". After driving the calf back, the sun goes down, and the coir is lying until dawn. Some of them show the philosophy of life, such as: "it's better to accumulate virtue than to accumulate gold and jade, and you have to ask if you are rich or expensive.". It not only has profound meaning, but also can be regarded as an excellent calligraphy work.
Because of its special historical value and cultural and artistic value, Longxi aristocratic manor was approved by the provincial government as the only provincial cultural relic protection unit in Xinping County in 2003. It is an important historical site and representative architecture in modern times.
