Tongguan Village
On August 19, 2015, Tencent charitable foundation held a press conference of "Tencent open platform for the village" in Tongguan village, Liping County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. This is a conference featuring "linking the countryside". It announced the Tencent public service officially launched the "Internet plus village" action plan. The plan aims to promote the rural leaps and bounds with the help of the mobile Internet through Tencent's own powerful connector. Tongguan village, with 460 villagers, 93% of whom are Dong people, is a traditional village deep in the mountains, which has become the first "village for village" experimental site in China.
Planning for the village
In June 2009, Tencent Foundation launched a five-year "dream building new village" project in Liping County, Leishan County, Guizhou Province and Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province. With the conservation and inheritance of national culture as the core, Tencent foundation explored a new mode for Internet enterprises to make use of their core advantages, gather public welfare forces, and promote the comprehensive development of education, culture, and economy in western rural areas. Although he chose the direction of "teaching people to fish" at the beginning, he still took the old way of "donating money to help students".
Along the way, Tencent Foundation found that the overall lag of rural development in China is caused by "disconnection", and the digital gap caused by asymmetric information acquisition and unbalanced resource allocation lies between urban and rural areas. Since the reform and opening up, wealth has rapidly gathered in cities. In order to seek wealth, young people in rural areas begin to migrate to cities, which leads to the hollowing out of rural areas, resulting in the "disconnection" of emotion, and also aggravates the further "disconnection" between left behind people and information, which further aggravates the "disconnection" between rural areas and wealth. These three "disconnection" interweave and influence each other. They are increasingly consuming the vitality of the countryside and perplexing every Chinese who is closely connected with the countryside. To this end, Tencent foundation summed up: the problem of rural "disconnection" from any aspect alone will have little effect due to the constraints of other short boards, so we need to find a more systematic and effective solution for rural "disconnection" through "connection".
In 2014, the project of "dream building new countryside" was upgraded to "We Country" plan, and the new way of rural development was explored by the way of "Internet plus rural".
Lucky choice
Tongguan village is composed of four natural villages surrounded by mountains. There are 460 households and 1863 people in Tongguan village. Dong nationality accounts for 93%. Like many old, young, border and poor areas in China, due to the high mountains and dangerous roads, young and middle-aged people in Tongguan village generally go out to work, only left behind children and old people. Most people don't know how to use smart phones, let alone WiFi. The average annual income of villagers is only 2800 yuan. It is also one of the birthplaces of Dong folk songs, a world intangible cultural heritage. It is known as the "hometown of Dong folk songs". It has distinctive cultural characteristics: children chasing and playing by the drum tower, old people singing Dong folk songs on the flower bridge, women cooking at home, men working in the mountains, surrounded by green mountains and flowing water Stepping into Tongguan village, Yandong Town, Liping County, the life picture of Traditional Dong village is in front of us.
On November 22, 2014, Tencent foundation, together with China Mobile and ZTE, established a 4G communication base station in Tongguan village and distributed nearly 100 smart phones to villagers receiving Internet training. "For the village" program was officially launched, and the first "mobile Internet village" in China's remote areas was officially born.
Take off by leaps and bounds
Dong Ecological Museum
With a construction area of 5600 square meters, this "Tongguan Dong folk song ecological museum" is built by Tencent foundation with a cost of 15 million yuan and mobilizing villagers to use traditional architectural style and technology. It is located on a dam surrounded by water on three sides and consists of 19 wooden stilted buildings, including Dong folk Song Concert Hall, flower bridge, stage, guest room, office building, corridor, folk culture exhibition hall, etc . Since the opening of the museum, a Dong song art troupe has been set up. Villagers can sing in the concert hall with salary and dividends.
Different from traditional museums, ecological museums emphasize collections, but expand the protection object to cultural heritage, emphasize that community residents are the real masters of culture, let them manage by themselves, create opportunities for community development according to the principle of sustainable development, so as to completely retain the social natural features, production of daily necessities, customs and other cultural factors. The museum has not only become a public spiritual sustenance space for villagers, a display window for tourists to visit Tongguan, but also an important place for villagers to "rub the net" and learn more about mobile Internet knowledge.
New ways of communication
"Is your rice delicious? Do you want to sell it? How to sell it? Sell it by mobile phone. You are so beautiful today. Did you take any pictures? How did you send them to others? Send them by wechat. Send it to the son and daughter-in-law who work in the city, and they will know what the baby looks like. And embroidery, do you like more beautiful patterns? Then search it with your mobile phone and see the patterns made by others on the Internet. You can do it better. " As time goes by, in Tongguan village people's eyes, the network world is no longer empty, but can build a bridge to connect their family, information and wealth.
"I can't hear clearly, but I'm satisfied to see my son every day." Wu Peishan, 65, who had never touched a smartphone in the past, now sits in front of the village's canteen to "rub the net" whenever she has free time. She not only chats with her son on video, but also listens to Dong songs and watches Dong plays on her smartphone sent by ZTE. In Tongguan village, there are many empty nesters like Wu Peishan. The Internet has enriched their left behind life, so that they can see the above with their children who go out to work.
Ou Hongda, CEO of Shenzhen Xinchuang Ke Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., learned that there are more left behind children in the village, so he donated 200 toys developed by himself. This parent-child chat Doll "meme dragon" has a function similar to mobile wechat, and can open voice dialogue with parents working outside in real time. As smart phones are skillfully used in the hands of villagers, Tongguan Dongzhai wechat platform based on the village social networking has been established. From the beginning of greeting "have you eaten?" to more practical contents such as village affairs notice, planting and breeding information, recruitment information, business information, minimum living guarantee publicity, etc.
In addition, other wechat groups based on Villagers' interests and hobbies are also active in the village: Dong song loving group, happy group, parent-child communication group and so on. More than 130 families have joined the group, with more than 780 subscribers and more than 1000 messages exchanged each month. "If there is any emergency in the wechat group, as long as it is published in the group, the masses will be able to respond quickly," said Wu Zhengang, Secretary of Tongguan village branch. On August 19, 2015, China's first village level public service number was officially launched in Tongguan village. After that, the village notice issuing, voting investigation, activity convening, public affairs opinion exchange, cultural activity sharing, specialty recommendation and other work can be carried out through wechat.
New mode of getting rich
In Tongguan village, the "Tongguan market" based on the "micro community" system has been online. Enter the Tongguan wechat platform, and click Penguin market to enter the flagship store of Tencent's "Weicun" market. There are not only Xianghe glutinous rice, ecological red rice, ecological white rice, cow black rice and black hole white rice, but also local Dong native cloth, queshe tea and other specialties. This is the first time that Tongguan village's characteristic agricultural products are sold nationwide. After Tencent designers' free design and packaging, the series of products of "Dong Xiang tea language", "Dong Xiang youmi" and "Dong Xiang cloth art" sold well in the network, with a total sales of 1.5 million yuan, creating a profit of 500000 yuan, and better feeding the local village level public utilities. From county and township markets shouting to Tongguan village's "Tongguan market" on wechat platform, and then to Tencent's "Penguin market" on national platform, Tongguan village built a bridge to get rich, moved its fingers on the network, and bought local products all over the country.
Villager Wu Guorong became the first host to eat crabs. His house, 180 square meters on the first floor, is planned to have five rooms, two halls, three bathrooms and one kitchen, and the second floor is transformed into six guest rooms. The total cost is 250000 yuan, the public welfare fund provides 100000 yuan interest free loan, and Wu Guorong raises 150000 yuan. The guest room is 128 yuan per night, staggering the consumption level with the Museum (699 yuan minimum for the museum room). The house money is temporarily collected by the museum. For every guest staying overnight, 45 yuan is used to repay the loan, 45 yuan is used to pay the cleaning fee of the hostess, and 38 yuan is the operating cost. It is estimated that as long as the occupancy rate reaches one third, the loan of 100000 yuan can be paid off in three to four years, and the host of B & B also has an income of 100000 yuan. After the loan is paid off, the income of the house belongs to the owner.
