Ma Pai Da Shan

Mabai mountain is the geographical boundary between Guizhou and Yunnan. Different from baicaoping, it is a grazing forbidden area. In addition to the green plateau lawn, there are mountains, canyons, Haizi and other scenery. At the foot of the mountain is Haizi, which is formed by the clear spring under the top stream. Next to the clear stream under the green maple forest, there are climbing steps, from which you can get to the top of the mountain all the way. On the lawn at the top of the mountain, you can have a panoramic view of the windmill, which is very spectacular. In April and may, Bai Dujuan in the mountains opened up in pieces, which was very beautiful.

Mabai mountain is located in Mazha Township, 40 kilometers away from the county seat. The top of the mountain is gentle, 7 kilometers long from north to south, covering an area of about 40 square kilometers. Located at the junction of Yunnan and Guizhou, the mountain belongs to Wumeng Mountain range, which is an important geographical dividing line. In winter, the sunshine is the first in Weining, and the climate is cool and green in summer.

In the history of Weining, it was once ruled by the WUSA family, the chieftain of the Yi nationality, and the Mabai Dashan area is the territory of the Mabai family, the nephew of WUSA, so it is named. This can be found in the ancient Yi literature "the origin of the Yi nationality" and other books. According to the records of Weining County annals, "Mabai mountain is more than 90 miles southwest of the city, tall and continuous. It is expected to ascend to Dongchuan, Zhaotong, Yiliang and Xuanwei counties. There are ninety-nine people in Longtan on the mountain, which is the largest in Nanling. It also produces silver, copper, lead and iron mines.". "Gan comes from Yunling through Yunnan Right out of a southwest into the highest horse pendulum mountain, all the way winding ups and downs, such as horses galloping.

It is an alpine steppe with complex landscape. There are lawn, grass slope, ridge, canyon, Haizi and other scenery on the mountain. It can be said that "how high is the mountain and how high is the water" and "one bay, one beach, one mountain" are the wonders here. The streams also converge into the high-altitude "Mabai Tianchi" and many waterfalls. On the hillside and between the canyons of the mountain, there are green trees for many years. Among them, there are octagonal trees, Jiangzi trees and wild bamboo forests. There are thousands of acres of wild rhododendrons with big leaves. When they open in April and may every year, it's like tying a white belt to Mabai mountain. In Nanfeng, there is also a wild Badi pine with an area of about 500 mu. I don't know how many years these little pine trees have been growing here, but the height of the tree is only more than 10 cm, and the branches are covered with pinecones. In addition, there are wild alpine plants such as Spurs, goat milk fruit and sticky grass seeds, as well as conventional crops such as buckwheat and potatoes. When cattle and sheep flock together, skylarks sing and folk songs linger in the mountains, it seems like an ancient fairy tale.

Although the top of Mabai mountain is gentle, the mountain is steep. It is huge, majestic and magnificent. If you choose a good weather and climb on it, you can ride on a super horse and see the mountains piled up. The artistic conception of the great Mao Zedong's poem "Wu Meng's majestic walk through the mud ball" in the Qilu Long March is vividly displayed here, while the "Pearl of the plateau" Caohai looks like a cup of wine raised by a mountain. The weathering and carving of nature make the eastern edge of the mountain cliffs deep and deep, often due to the change of overcast and sunny, the cloud wave is treacherous and the atmosphere is myriad. In the fog, if the sun shines, the mountain will form a "Buddha light" spectacle. Because of the special geographical features, the alpine grassland of Mabai mountain represents a grassland scenery of Wumeng Mountain, which is different from that of Tibet, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. It is called "the last beautiful and tearful Grassland". Its typical Weining charm "makes you unable to refuse". Undoubtedly, it is the "Paradise" of photographers and painters in legend.

In 2008, experts from Guizhou Tourism Economic Research Institute conducted a rural tourism planning investigation in Weining Autonomous County. They made a high evaluation on the unique tourism resources of Mabai mountain. They said that this kind of alpine steppe with high altitude and unique landscape is very rare in Guizhou Province, and it has extremely high development value. It is suitable for the development of grassland kart, alpine grassland drag racing, hot air balloon, paraglider, and so on Horse racing, sheep sledding and camping. And we are going to build it into a high standard, unique project and the only alpine grassland comprehensive tourist attraction in China. The oil road and stone ladder leading to the top of the mountain have been built.
