When Wang Guoping, then Secretary of the Hangzhou municipal Party committee, listened to the basic design report of the planning exhibition hall, he said poetically: "through the window of the planning exhibition hall, we can look back on history and regain memory; through this window, we can touch the city and taste culture; through this window, we can construct blueprints and gallop dreams."

People friendly and forward looking

In the core area of Qianjiang New Town, Hangzhou has spent a lot of money to build an Urban Planning Museum on such a large scale. To this end, Wang Guoping made it clear that Hangzhou Urban Planning Museum should be "leading in China and world-class". Furthermore, it puts forward that the design of Planning Museum should consider five major relations, namely, the relations between Planning Museum and city, architecture, ecology, culture and citizens.

The exhibition hall is divided into four floors. In addition to the preface hall, the exhibition hall is divided into three halls: "impression of Hangzhou", "interpretation of Hangzhou" and "prospect of Hangzhou". Starting from the historical and cultural accumulation of Hangzhou, it gradually shows the characteristics of the city, and then looks forward to the future of Hangzhou.

Set up the following theme exhibition areas: city memory, famous city protection, city of mountains and rivers, blueprint general drawing, harmonious living, quality service, accessible travel, basic lifeline, bright spot prospect (recent major construction project exhibition area), city cube (recent key area planning project), network city (eight districts and five counties and cities planning exhibition area), etc.

The grand master planning model is a highlight of the exhibition hall. The design scheme shows that "the use of sound, light and electricity modern technology synthesis means, to create a dramatic effect, the future development of Hangzhou grand blueprint in front of you."

The use of a large number of high-tech means will dazzle visitors: laser imaging, luminous maps, electronic book flipping, virtual driving, historical film restoration, etc.

For example, when you step into the historical and cultural city protection planning exhibition area, you will see Liangzhu site, KUAHUQIAO site, Southern Song Dynasty imperial city site protection, as well as important historical blocks and lots. The display means are electronic display board, interactive touch screen, multimedia demonstration, wall model, embedded model, relief, scene restoration, etc.

Interactive experience area

Located in the east side of the entrance of the first level, a children's activity area is set up: a graffiti area with the theme of "my dream" is set up for children who love painting, and a "city puzzle" game area is set up for young children. By setting up children's activity area, parents visiting the planning exhibition can be provided with child care services, and the social functions of the Planning Museum can be extended.

Located in the east of the children's activity area, there are a number of interactive experience areas related to popular science knowledge of planning for visitors, including "facing the planner", "urban Tangram" and so on.

Set up a core query area in the southwest of the front hall. You can check various kinds of information by yourself through the LCD touch screen, including the functional layout of the Planning Museum, Hangzhou City profile, sunshine planning publicity, etc.

Riverside Landscape

The sunshine corridor on the first floor is the most architectural feature of the planning hall. The glass roof allows direct sunlight and makes full use of natural light. At the same time of energy conservation and environmental protection, it means fair, just and open Sunshine Planning.

The Planning Museum will take the open Qiantang River as the background, so that the public can enjoy the river scenery during the visit. Therefore, the design scheme solves the problem of the opening rate of the exhibition hall, so that the landscape on both sides of the river can be seen at a glance on the fourth floor, realizing the ecological concept of "leading the river into the hall, green into the hall, and scenery into the hall", reflecting the harmonious coexistence of human and nature.
