Xiuhu Park

Yiwu Xiuhu park is an important part of Yiwu old city reconstruction and urban landscape improvement project in 2000. It is located in the southwest of Yiwu Municipal government, with a land area of 7.164 hectares. The total investment is about 19.9 million yuan. It was put into use in April 2003.

It is a large open public green space with Jiangnan garden style. It shows the architectural details such as light shape and flexible cornice, which are in sharp contrast with the hard green space of the citizen square in the East and coexist harmoniously. It reflects the fusion of the city's historical continuity and reality, and the harmony of protection and sustainable development. It also shows the city's humanistic characteristics and serves the public with high-quality green landscape.

Development history

Xiuhu, also known as Xiuchuan or Xiuchuan lake. According to the old county annals, "Xiuhu is located in the west of the county. It covers a vast area of land. It is surrounded by peaks and clouds. It is as beautiful as embroidery. The lake has its name." There were 24 pavilions and pavilions in the lake area between song and Yuan Dynasties. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there are eight sceneries: the evening photo of the post house, the evening bell of the tobacco temple, the red cloud of Huadao, the painted boat of Liuzhou, the fishing market of huting, the horse of painted bridge, the moon falling from the pine shoots, and the lotus dangling and startling the gulls. At Liuzhou in the middle of the lake, there are Da'an Temple Pagoda and Da'an temple built in 1110.

The new buildings in Xiuhu Park imitate the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties, In order to contrast the Da'an Temple Pagoda built in Song Dynasty, it inherits the historical context of Da'an Temple Pagoda and Xiuhu Lake; at the same time, it moderately widens the existing water surface of Xiuhu lake on the west side of Da'an Temple Pagoda and extends eastward to the south side in front of the pagoda to form the shadow of Tianguang pagoda; combined with the "eight sceneries of Xiuhu" recorded in historical records and county annals, it reproduces and expounds the lost artistic conception of "eight sceneries of Xiuhu Lake" in concentrated space The new vitality of Xiuhu lake lies in the morning bell of the smoke temple, the falling moon of the pine shoots, the evening photo of the post house, the horse of the painted bridge, the painted boat of Liuzhou, the frightened gull of Hedang, the red cloud of Huadao and the fishing market of huting. Modern overall green landscape: follow the principles of plant diversity design, plant landscaping and ecological design.

In the overall plant configuration, the configuration method of large-scale backbone trees is: "dense in the north and sparse in the South", with tall trees and trees to block the northwest cold wind in winter; in the southeast, sparse forests and grassland are set up to open "doors and windows" for the southeast monsoon, so that the dominant wind in summer flows into the park, providing more comfortable leisure space for tourists.

Large evergreen tree species were selected as the overall green background and distributed in all kinds of planting areas in the garden to form landscape alone or set off other deciduous flowering plants. Sapindus mukorossi, an ornamental tree with autumn leaves, is selected as the main shade tree of the Garden Road, which is conducive to the seasonal change of the landscape of the main tour line, while its tall trunk and dense branches and leaves are suitable for shading in summer; various kinds of foliage trees and shrubs are selected in each plant scenic spot in the garden to enrich the four seasons scenery.
