Shipu old street
The ancient city of Shipu is built along the mountain and close to the sea. It is called "the city is on the harbor and the mountain is in the city". One end of it is connected to the fishing port, and the other is hidden deep in the valley between the mountains. The city wall is built with the ups and downs of the mountains, and the city gate is formed. The high control of the harbor is the main feature of the majestic appearance of Shipu ancient city, an important coastal defense town. The old houses are built by steps, and the streets and alleys are built by steps, winding and winding, which is quite characteristic of a mountain city.
Background
Shipu old street, also known as Zhongjie, was built in Ming Dynasty and developed in Qing Dynasty. It has a history of more than 600 years. Until the 1930s and 1940s, Shipu middle street was still a prosperous business street. It is said that at that time, there were more than 100 shops on both sides of the middle street, such as silk cloth shop, shoe shop, copper shop, drugstore and so on, but these shops had long been neglected.
History of old street
The archway at the entrance of Shipu old street is red and bright. The four characters of "Shipu ancient city" are inscribed by Huang Xingguo, former Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party committee. On both sides of the east section of Shipu middle street, which is more than 200 meters long, the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties is basically well preserved. Although it is relatively old, it still has certain ornamental and research value. In particular, it is worth mentioning that there is a xunsinong here, and there is a former site of the Ming Dynasty Shipu Xunsi Yamen in xunsinong, which is hard to see elsewhere.
The quaint old neighborhoods have uneven terrain, narrow or folded steps, and a tendency of winding paths. Almost every 50 meters on the old street, there is a "fire gate" built across the street with high brick walls. If a fire breaks out in a certain area, it will be difficult for the fire to spread if the "fire gate" blocks the street, which is similar to the "fire wall" of Jiangnan folk houses. On the old street, there is a "fire gate" built across the street every 50 meters or so, with a total of five. Despite the changes, some of the old shop numbers on both sides of the middle street are still rare, and some of the signs on the "fire wall" are still preserved.
The landmark of the old street houses is a fishing lamp hanging under the eaves every few steps away, which highlights the strong fishing culture in the old street of Shipu. The wooden buildings on both sides of the street, the traditional stone totems of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the vaguely recognizable shop names are full of antique charm and reverberate for a long time. Almost every house on the old street is inhabited by other people. The door is open and undefended. As long as you raise your head, you can visit the front yard scenery. At the other end of the ancient street, there is a magnificent and magnificent Guandi temple, which has been renovated. Next to the temple, there is a Jiangxin temple, which is also the place where pilgrims gather. The ancient city platform is all made of green bricks. It looks very antique. At first glance, it is quite spectacular. The admission fee of the old street is 60 yuan, including the admission fee of each venue in the old street. But if it's just shopping, you don't need tickets.
If the ancient city of Yugang is a big tree, then the 12 newly developed stadiums on both sides of the old street are the leaves growing on this tree. Through the rustling leaves, the long history reverberates in our ears. Shipu prospered its port because of fishing and also because of the port, making it an important fishing port, commercial port and military port along the middle coastal road in history. The marine culture and fishing culture scattered in the islands, reefs and harbors, in front of the back of the house and in front of the court, after dinner, have also become the home of the port city after years.
