Lu Xun Cultural Square

Lu Xun culture square is located at the intersection of Lu Xun in the west of Xianheng hotel. It is next to Fu River in the west, xianhuan River in the back and Tianta in the south. Due to the small floor area, the square adopts the design of sinking type, sinking part of the foundation, and then taking the form of step-by-step rise, so that the narrow plane of the square gives people a sense of hierarchy, variety and three-dimensional.

The pavement of the square is paved with bluestone slabs, highlighting the traditional style of Shaoxing. There is also a typical river port scene in the water town along the Fu River in the square. Two exquisite wupeng boats are moored on the surface of the Fu River.

Monuments

On the east side of Lu Xun Cultural Square, there is a 1.12-meter-high and 3.30-meter-long granite monument embedded in the solid wall made of square stones. The title of the stele is the list of grants for Lu Xun's bronze statue, which was set up by the Shaoxing Committee for the preparation of Lu Xun's bronze statue. On the stele is engraved the name of the grant giver who "the unit is more than 1000 yuan and the individual is more than 100 yuan". The above rows of names from all over the world, home and abroad, show an undeniable fact: people who love and respect Lu Xun are all over the world. Lu Xun culture square was officially completed and opened in 1991 to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Lu Xun's birth.

The bronze statue of Lu Xun stands in the north of Lu Xun Cultural Square, facing Lu Xun road. A row of green camphor trees on the back form a natural barrier, which further sets off the height and solemnity of the bronze statue. The bronze statue of Lu Xun is 3.18 meters high and weighs 2.5 tons. It is made of brass. Lu Xun in the bronze statue is amiable, calm, vivid and rich in connotation. Through the image, we can clearly feel Lu Xun's wise thought, firm belief and perseverance. The base of the bronze statue is 1.6 meters high. It is made of yellow granite with red spots and edges, symbolizing Lu Xun's unyielding character. On the side of the bronze statue stands a dignified and heavy stone tablet: the inscription of Lu Xun's bronze statue, which was set up by Shaoxing Municipal People's Government (written by Chen Yi and written by Shen Ding'an). It is 1.2 meters high and 2 meters wide, and is placed on a stable pedestal. The inscription records an extraordinary and historic feat: on the 110th anniversary of the birth of Lu Xun, people from all walks of life who admire Lu Xun, with their sincere heart, cast this majestic statue in his hometown; this bronze statue will spread through the ages and shine for generations.

The bronze statue of Lu Xun was initiated by famous writers Ba Jin, Xiao Jun and Huang Yuan on the occasion of commemorating the 50th anniversary of Lu Xun's death in 1986. It was built by the masses and solemnly unveiled on the occasion of commemorating the 110th anniversary of Lu Xun's birth in 1991.

Lu Xun, formerly known as Zhou Shuren, was named Yucai. He was born on September 25, 1881 in the new gate of Zhou's family at the entrance of Duchang square in Shaoxing City. The children's interest of BaiCaoYuan and the Enlightenment of Sanwei Bookstore made Lu Xun a great writer, thinker and revolutionist. It is a brilliant portrayal of his life and his motto for posterity. Lu Xun's spirit shines on the earth and is praised by the world. Lu Xun is worthy of the reputation of "national soul".

Yingxiang blue sky, Fengqi Tonglin, the soul of Mr. Department of homeland, the people's heart to the spirit. In the autumn of 1986, Ba Jin, Huang Yuan, Xiao Jun and others proposed that the Shaoxing villagers meticulously plan to build a bronze statue of Lu Xun, so as to make him rich and beautiful, which will be remembered and admired by later generations. As soon as the proposal was put forward, all sides responded, and people from all walks of life at home and abroad enthusiastically supported it. It was completed on September 25, 1991 by Shaoxing bronze statue preparation committee.

Lu Xun's spirit will last forever, and the spring breeze will turn into rain. He will be remembered for his kindness to his descendants.

Architectural features

Lu Xun's Cultural Square is on the stage, with layers of layers, red flowers and green leaves, and lush vegetation.

The ancillary buildings around the square are all modeled on the traditional style of Shaoxing folk houses, with white walls and black tiles, which are quiet and clean. The difference is that modern building materials are used, and some modern aesthetic composition is integrated into the shape of the buildings, so as to enrich the flavor of the times.

The atmosphere of the square is solemn, dignified and lively, which reflects the common characteristics of memorial square and cultural recreation place.
