Jiaxing ship Culture Museum, located on the Bank of Jiaxing Guyun River, is the first ship Culture Museum in China, with strong water characteristics and a construction area of more than 1800 square meters. When you enter the Jiaxing ship Culture Museum, you will listen to the history of boats, appreciate the charm of boats in the water town, appreciate the world of famous boats, browse ship technology, enjoy the heroic appearance and elegant demeanor of boats at all times and in all countries, and deeply feel the poetic and picturesque scenery of the water town in the south of the Yangtze River. With the strong support of Jiaxing Municipal Party committee, Jiaxing Municipal government, Zhejiang Provincial Department of communications, Jiaxing Port and shipping administration and Jiaxing Transportation Bureau, the Jiaxing ship Culture Museum, which was undertaken by Jiaxing Port and shipping administration, took one and a half years to open on October 26, 2003

Development history

Jiaxing, a famous historical and cultural city with beautiful scenery in the south of the Yangtze River, was a place of Wuyue in the spring and Autumn period. It is adjacent to Shanghai in the East, Hangzhou in the South and Suzhou in the northwest. Jiaxing is also one of the earliest birthplaces of ancient Chinese boats in the South Taihu Lake Basin. The boat culture closely related to boats has developed for thousands of years.

The exhibition content of the ship culture museum is divided into four parts: the history of ships, the rhyme of ships in water town, the world of famous ships, and ship science and technology. The preface hall is a boat with its mast straight into the dome. On the wall of the garden wall is inlaid with a full volume of 15 meter long enlarged spray painting "Qingming River Painting". The exhibition hall on the first floor is a brief history of boats and boats. Eight large display cabinets tell eight beautiful stories. The exhibition hall on the second floor is full of water customs, which vividly shows the customs and customs of Jiangnan Water villages, which are full of knowledge and appreciation. The exhibition hall on the third floor is a famous ship, which is composed of four parts: Ancient Chinese ships, ancient Western ships, modern warships and modern civilian ships. The model is refined, showing numerous scientific and technological achievements in the history of world navigation. It is also an outstanding masterpiece of human exploration and utilization of nature.

In the science exhibition hall, eight computer screens display the knowledge of ship structure, navigation Propulsion Principle and navigation exploration. Teenagers can also participate in naval games here. The high-tech large-scale ship simulator is one of the highlights of the museum. The audience can board the ship, enter the cabin, operate and drive in person, enjoy the South Lake of Jiaxing and the Jiangnan canal, go boating in the ancient towns of Xitang and Wuzhen, and sail through the Huangpu River of Shanghai to the deep Ocean. The vivid waterscape, the roar of the engine, the huge waves in the sky, and the danger of collision make people feel dizzy and fast heartbeat. The simulator also has the function of crew training and examination.

The ship Culture Museum has rich display contents, novel exhibition means, high content of modern science and technology, and good acousto-optic electromagnetic effect. A whole set of multimedia system allows the audience to see, hear, touch and use.
