The only glass art museum in Shanghai is founded and designed by Taiwan artists Zhang Yi and Yang Huishan. On the outer wall of the museum, two giant metal net peony flowers are attached, which seem to bloom out of the glass: during the day, the shadow of the flowers is quiet; at night, the flowers are gorgeous, showing a strong sense of modern art.
Nearly 100 pieces of ancient glass treasures are on display in the museum, including not only the labor crystallization of ancient Chinese people, but also the works of Emile gall è, a French artist who appeared in the 19th century Paris World Expo and was known as the "father of world glass"; 54 Buddhist works show the wisdom and hard work of artist Yang Huishan for 23 years. Among the exhibits, the most amazing one is the "great wish of this life" statue of Avalokitesvara, which took 10 years to create. This three-dimensional restoration work originated from the murals of the Yuan Dynasty in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is the only work of non glass material in the museum. Above it is a well-designed multimedia projection - flying sky, and under the seat of Guanyin is a yellow glazed lotus.
