Huzhou museum is located in Renhuangshan New District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a comprehensive museum integrating collection, research and exhibition. The old Huzhou museum was completed in 1962 and opened to the public. The new one was opened to the public in 2006. The building area of the museum is 10274 square meters, and the exhibition area is 4000 square meters.

As of February 2020, Huzhou Museum has three basic exhibitions: "Wu Xingfu - Huzhou history and Humanities Series", "Dao Mu life - Zhao Yannian Art Exhibition", "things and I forget: Zhao family memorial hall and classical furniture exhibition of Ming and Qing Dynasties", with a collection of 10000 cultural relics, including 36 first-class cultural relics, 135 second-class cultural relics and 1316 third-class cultural relics.

In 2009, Huzhou museum was rated as a national second-class Museum.

Historical evolution

In October 1962, Huzhou museum was completed, formerly known as Wuxing County Museum.

In 1983, Wuxing County removed land to build a city, and the museum was renamed Huzhou Museum.

On December 26, 2006, the new Huzhou museum was officially opened to the public.

Honors

In 2007, Huzhou museum was named the state-owned Museum of the year in China.

In 2009, Huzhou museum was rated as a national second-class Museum.
