Ancestral home
Li Gongpu, whose ancestral home is hutangqiao, Wujin County, was born in Huai'an Prefecture. He spent his childhood in Huai'an until he was 13 years old and moved to Zhenjiang with his parents. Li Gongpu's father was Xuezeng, and his name was ZengPei. Because he was a member of the family of Daoyin shendunlan in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, he was praised and valued by his master for his loyalty, diligence and uprightness. Therefore, when the Shen family bought a huge house with a garden in the south of Zhuque bridge in the East long street of Huai'an City (see the article "Shen's Suiyuan" for details) and settled in Huai'an, they took Li Pei and another servant named He Sheng to Huai'an and worked as a steward in the Shen mansion.
Famous wife
In his native place, Li Pei married his wife, Zhou family, and gave birth to Yongren (1873-1906), whose name is Jin family, Lanjun, and Tian family of Huai'an Prefecture; Yongyi (1878-1919), whose name is Jinchang, Xiangguo, Hanfei, and Hanfen; female one, Lin yaocang of Huai'an Prefecture. In 1884, Li Pei married Cheng (1865-1930) and gave birth to Yongkang (1885-1945), whose name was Jinkang and whose name was shoutong. Later, Li Pei changed his name to Gongyu, who was originally the eldest daughter of Qian shouchang in Huaicheng. His youngest son was Gongpu and his first daughter was fan Zhongyuan in Huaian Prefecture. Li Pei has two houses in Huai'an. One is the residence of Li Pei and his wife and their young son (Gongpu), which is located at zhuqueqiaotu, Dongchang street. The other is the house of his second son Yongyi (Hanfen), which is located in Donggong family hospital at the entrance of Dongyue Temple (south of the outpatient department of today's people's Hospital).
In the fourth year of the Republic of China (1915), Li Pei was seventy-nine years old. In the autumn of that year, Li Pei, Cheng's wife and 13-year-old Gongpu moved to Zhenjiang and lived on his third son Yongkang (Gongyu). Before leaving Huaihe, it happened that the second son Yongyi (Hanfen) was about to join the army in Donghai. Therefore, the father and son took a photo together in Huaihe, and Hanfen wrote a postscript to commemorate it. The preface and postscript are as follows:
His father was nine years old and lived in Huaihe for more than 30 years. I'm still living in Jiangnan. I'm happy in life. But (Fen) engraved from the East China Sea, it is difficult to serve, and can not set the province on time, very deep regret. I took a picture with my fourth brother Xiang. I understood that later (Baiyun) was eight days after the Mid Autumn Festival. Hanfen was determined to live in Huaihe.
In this year, Li Gongpu left his birthplace, Huai'an.
