Bailing Village
Bailing village is located in Dongshi Town, Pingyuan County, Meizhou City, in the northeast of Dongshi Town, 7.5km away from Dongshi town government. Bailing village is connected with Lingshui village in the West and adjacent to Sishui town in the north. It is located at the foot of Jianshan mountain. Shutoutang in Bailing village is adjacent to Shangju town. Bailing village committee includes bailing village and four residential areas. It has jurisdiction over seven villager groups, namely Shangcun, Tangwei, Shanbei, shutoutang, Jianshan, luotiankeng and getengwo. The villagers have the surnames of Lin, Zeng, Liu and Qiu, and are Han nationality. They speak Meizhou dialect (Hakka).
origin
Because there is a Baiji Hill (white porcelain soil) at the junction of Lingshui and bailing, bailing village is named "bailingbei" on the top of Baiji hill. The name of Bailing village comes from this and is still used in history.
social development
There is a cement road in the village, which is 2.5km long and connected with Dongsi highway. The village committee is located in Bailing village. There are 156 households with 647 people. Since 2005, the per capita income of farmers has been 3500 yuan. There are 572 mu of arable land, agricultural rice, peanuts, soybeans, economic crops such as tea, Camellia oleifera, Meizhou pomelo, Sanhua Plum, etc.
Historical evolution
During the great revolution of 1929-1930, Zeng Qinglu and Qiu Zhanpeng, the early Communists of Pingyuan County, carried out revolutionary activities here. Together with Lingshui village, they established the first Soviet regime in our county, the peasant association. After liberation, the government approved it as an old revolutionary base area.
Bailing village was under the jurisdiction of Matang in the 1950s, and bailing brigade was set up separately in the 1960s. In the 1970s, bailing and Lingshui merged into Shibei brigade. In the 1980s, it was separated from Lingshui and set up bailing management area. In 1999, it was changed into bailing village committee.
A certain amount of limestone has been found in Bailing village, which has not been exploited yet.
Village information
[Ge Teng Wo] 2.5km northeast of Bailing village committee is the north foot of Jianshan mountain - shangou. There were 123 Lin family residents, whose ancestors moved from jingdun, Dongshi. With many mountains and few fields, the transportation is inconvenient. Since the 1980s, villagers have gradually moved to live along Dongsi highway in Bailing village, where no one lives. This mountain nest is named after its rich kudzu vine.
[shangluotiankeng] about 3 kilometers northeast of the village, there are 5 families and 20 people of Lin family. It has been 22 generations since Qing Dynasty when they moved here. There are many mountains and few fields. The villagers mainly cultivate mountains and grow fruits.
[xialuotiankeng] is located 3 kilometers northeast of the village. There are more than 20 people in 5 families of Lin family. The villagers rely on farming mountains and planting fruits.
[shutoutang] two kilometers to the west of the village, there are 13 families and 47 people with the surname Qiu. There are few lands and many mountains. It produces wood and Camellia oleifera. There are tungsten mines underground. It was mined in the 1950s. It is the birthplace of Qiu Zhanpeng, a revolutionary martyr during the great revolution. It is a basin as high as the hills, so it is called shutoutang.
[Shanbei] the village committee is one kilometer away from the West. There are 88 people in 22 families of Liu family. It is located behind bailing mountain, so it is named Shanbei. It mainly produces tung oil tree, Camellia oleifera and fruits.
[tangweitou] in the west of the village committee, 0.5km away, there are 113 people from 23 families of Liu family. They have moved to 25 generations in the Qing Dynasty. The place name is unknown. There are iron ore and limestone underground that have not been mined. The villagers mainly grow grain.
[Shangcun] the name comes from the upper part of Bailing village. It lives in two families, Zeng and Lin. there are 156 people in 40 families. They mainly grow grain, and are also produced by tung oil tree and Camellia oleifera. Underground, there are limestone and iron ore resources. It is the birthplace of Zeng Qinglu, a revolutionary martyr.
One kilometer to the south of huziao village, there are 34 people in 8 families of Lin family. It is a new residence moved in the 1970s and 1980s. In the past, it used to be mainly farming, and the surrounding area is rich in iron ore. in recent years, many villagers have become rich by mining. It is said that in the old days, tigers often appeared here, so it was named.
One kilometer to the east of goujiaoji village is a new residential area formed in the 1990s, with 116 people living in 26 families of Lin family. Today, it is the second generation of villagers. They mainly farm and cultivate mountains, and also mine iron ore as a sideline.
[shushanli] the village committee is located in the northeast of shushanli, one kilometer away. There are 28 people from 6 families of Zeng family. They moved here in the Qing Dynasty and have been passed down for 24 generations. The villagers mainly farm and cultivate the mountain. In the past, there were a lot of woodlands here, so they got their name
