Wulongtan Park
Wulongtan park is located at the east foot of Qingliang, Gulou District, Nanjing City, with Guangzhou road in the north and Huju road in the west, covering an area of 5 hectares. With beautiful scenery, scattered pavilions, sparse flowers and trees, Wulongtan is known as the "crown of the West City".
During the Three Kingdoms period, oolong lake was named Qingshui Datang and Furong pool. In the Jin Dynasty, it is said that there are four springs in the pool, which gush all the year round. On June 19 of one year, four Oolong were playing around the spring. Since then, oolong lake has appeared on time every year, hence its name. A few years later, the four springs disappeared one after another, and the Oolong Lake did not reappear, but the scenery of the Oolong lake was still beautiful.
Development history
At the beginning of the establishment of Wulongtan Park, the policy of "building the park by business and supporting the park by business" was determined.
Wulongtan flower shop was established in June 1983, with three branches on Zhongshan Road, Gulou Street and Duolun Road, and a snack bar. By the end of this year, the flower shop will be expanded into a amusement mall.
In December 1984, Nanjing Xicheng garden service company was established. In order to further arouse the enthusiasm of the staff and workers, the economic contract responsibility system was implemented in January 1985, with the departments and teams accounting independently and being responsible for their own profits and losses. In November of this year, the snack bar was expanded into Nanjing furongzhai restaurant.
In 1986, the garden service company was expanded into Nanjing Xicheng garden department store. In February this year, the joint-stock system, optimized labor combination and personnel appointment system were tried out in the park.
In 1987, the economic contract risk mortgage system was implemented, which tied the interests of enterprises, contractors and employees together.
In March 1992, the reform of structural wage system was tried out. In June of that year, Mingyuan Hotel and Wulong hotel were built. In October, Nanjing Wulong industry and Trade Corporation was established.
In February 1993, the Wulong hotel was expanded into hongloushanzhuang. In March, Nanjing red building decoration company was established. The car rental company opened in July. Seizing the opportunity of reform and opening up, the park has continuously deepened the reform of the economic system. Commerce and trade are snowballing, growing larger and more. Assets have grown from zero to tens of millions of yuan, and the number of employees has increased from five to more than 200. The road of "building a garden by business and supporting it by business" is wider and wider.
Main attractions
Wulongtan is known as the small West Lake in Nanjing. The park is famous for its beautiful scenery, quiet and elegant. Miaoxiang Pavilion, lenghua hall, fujuzhai, Feiyue Pavilion, Fangsheng nunnery, suolongqiao and Wuhou Temple are harmonious in layout, making people stay. Miaoxiang Pavilion
Located on the West Bank of Wulongtan, it was built in 1988. It is a two-story platform with cornices and brackets. The upper floor is the exhibition hall, and the lower floor is Yan Zhenqing painting and calligraphy Museum. The meaning of "Miaoxiang" is to "smell Miaoxiang with a clear heart". There is an ancient osmanthus tree about 400 years old in the South Lawn of the pavilion. It has a chest circumference of 180 cm and a height of 2.2 meters. It is named "Qinggui" and cultivated into a landscape, which can be called the beauty of osmanthus tree stump bonsai.
Zhentan stone
Located more than ten steps south of Miaoxiang Pavilion, the stone is 555 cm high and weighs 5 tons. It is shaped like Guanyin. It was purchased from Yixing mountain for ten thousand yuan in 1988. It stands here to show the God of protecting the pool. It is named zhentan Shenshi.
Turtle Museum
Nanjing turtle museum is located on the side of the sacred stone. Built on September 24, 1989, it is the first tortoise and turtle Museum in China. The tortoise and turtle collected and displayed in the museum include 36 species found in China and more than 50 species from abroad. Most of them are living, and few of them are peeled (soaked) specimens. The large ones weigh more than 70 kg, and the small ones are only a few grams. Among them, there are rare four eyed turtle, snake turtle and four clawed tortoise. There is also a new turtle species named Zhou's closed shell turtle, which was discovered in Nanning in 1990 after Zhou Jiufa, director of the park, by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1991, he cooperated with Jiangsu TV station to shoot the science and education film "Chinese turtle". Nanjing turtle nature museum is the largest turtle research base in China, which is a magical "Turtle World". In 2014, more than 90 species of turtles and turtles were collected in the museum, accounting for 40% of the known species in the world, and more than 1000 live turtles and turtles were collected. There are not only snake turtles, white jade turtles, golden turtles and Yuanbao turtles, which are rare in daily life, but also four clawed tortoises, which are the first-class protected animals in China, as well as the natural and picturesque yellow forehead box turtles and green hair turtles. The largest turtle in the museum weighs more than 100 Jin, while the smallest one weighs only a few grams.
Fangsheng nunnery
Located in the south of Nanjing turtle Museum. In 759, Yan Zhenqing set up Jiangning release pool in Wulongtan. Yan Zhenqing wrote a book for the release pool of Wulongtan in his own hand.
During the reign of Yuanhe (806-820), later generations built a Fangsheng nunnery in the west of Tan to worship the Duke of Yan and Lu. In song, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was repaired several times. During the period of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the nunnery was destroyed. During the period of Tongzhi, Tu Zongying, the magistrate of Jiangning, built the temple of Yanlu at the site of the nunnery. In the temple, there are many ancient steles and a releasing well. Fangsheng nunnery was built in 1988, covering an area of only 10 square meters. The white jade gate of the Han Dynasty named Fangsheng nunnery is an antique of the Tang and Song dynasties.
Feiyue Pavilion
Located on the South Bank of Fangsheng nunnery, there is a memorial archway named "why the West Lake". The memorial archway is connected with the curved bridge, which reaches the Feiyue Pavilion in the middle of the pond. It's a good place to watch the moon in the Ming Dynasty. In 1881, Liu Kun, governor of the two rivers of the Qing Dynasty, rebuilt the pavilion with double eaves and hexagons. The pavilion was still in use in 1928, but it was abandoned later. Today, the pavilion was rebuilt in 1989, using its original name of single story and hexagons.
Temple of Marquis
It is located in the southeast of tan. The historical sites related to Zhuge Liang include Wuhou Temple, Zhuge horse drinking place, Zhuma slope and so on, all of which were left by Zhuge Liang when he was sent to Dongwu. Xue sanggen of the Qing dynasty built the temple of marquis Wu here, and Zhao Gongren, the magistrate of Jiangning, erected a stone tablet on the right of the temple, engraved with "ZHUGE Marquis Wu's residence in horse". Today, there is an ancient yellow poplar here. Its trunk is as thick as a bowl. It is said that it was the tree of horse in the year of marquis Wu.
Pi Lin Xie
Located in the east of the lake, it was completed in February 1991. It is not only a place for tourists to rest, but also a place for the release of birds. In order to protect aquatic organisms, every year on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, believers gather here to hold an annual release activity. This is the most beautiful place in Wulongtan park.
Suolongqiao group
Located in the east of the lake, it is said that Jin people wanted to lock the neck of the dragon and built a lock bridge on the lake. Today's Suolong bridge, with one arch and two coupons, is 21 meters long, 7 meters high and 4 meters wide. On the north side of the bridge, 3 meters apart, is a single span bridge, named Tongbo bridge, which is 7 meters long, 2.55 meters high and 2.62 meters wide.
There are four small arch bridges under the two bridges. The six bridges, large and small, each present a scene, and form a bridge group combination with each other, showing the beauty of the group.
Nautilus stone pavilion
Located in the northeast of Xiangtan and the northwest foot of Guishan mountain, it is an antique building. In the window of the pavilion, there are two green slate stones. There is a bamboo shoot like pattern on the slate, 52 cm long and milky white. This is the Nautilus fossil. Its scientific name is Sinian hornstone of China. It was created during the Ordovician period of the Paleozoic 500 million years ago. These two fossils were purchased from the family of a famous Qing Dynasty family in Xuhua Township, Qingyang County, Anhui Province in 1985. According to folklore, these two fossils are the stones of Longyou, so they are commonly known as Longyou stones.
Statue of Cao Xueqin
Located at the Western foot of Guishan mountain, it is made of red granite with a height of 2.5 meters and a base height of about 1 meter. The front of the base is engraved with the four characters "Cao Xueqin", which is inscribed by Feng Qiyong, President of China Redology Association. The statue is sitting, dressed in robes, holding a scroll, dignified, full of literary charm. Chen shuoren and Ling yongchong of Nanjing Academy of art design and creation. The Grand View Garden of Redology will be built here.
aquarium
Located in the flower and bird market in the eastern part of the park, it produces animal specimens, provides technical consultation on turtle breeding, and sells live turtles, specimens, handicrafts, teaching videos, etc.
