Song Yingxing Memorial Hall

Song Yingxing (1587-1664?) Chang Geng, Han nationality, was born in BEIXIANG (now Songbu town) of Fengxin in Ming Dynasty and the author of Tiangong Kaiwu. This book records in detail more than 130 production technologies in the fields of agriculture, industry and handicraft industry in China in the 17th century. It is known as the "Encyclopedia of ancient Chinese science and technology", and has extremely important value and historical status in the history of science and technology at home and abroad. In order to commemorate song Yingxing, a great scientist, carry forward history and culture, and carry out popular science education, the song Yingxing memorial hall was built in Fengxin County in 1983 and opened in 1987. In the past 16 years, it has received more than 200000 tourists from home and abroad, especially young students. Song Yingxing memorial hall has also become one of the top ten celebrity halls in Jiangxi Province, which belongs to Jiangxi science popularization education base and Jiangxi patriotism education base.

Song Yingxing

Song Yingxing (1587-1666 A.D.) was a scientist in the late Ming Dynasty. The word is Changgeng. Han nationality, Fengxin (now Jiangxi). Wanli 43 years (1615) in the township. Chongzhen seven years (1643) as Jiangxi Fenyi Jiaoyu, 11 years for Fujian Tingzhou push official, 14 years for Anhui Bozhou Zhizhou. After the death of Ming Dynasty, he abandoned his official and returned to his hometown. At that time, with the rapid development of commodity economy and the new level of production technology, he wrote the book Tiangong Kaiwu in Fenyi, Jiangxi Province. Song Yingxing's works include Ye Yi, Lun Qi, Tan Tian, Si Lian Shi, Hua Yin GUI Zheng and ten kinds of Yi Yan.

Reasons for transformation

In 2003, in view of the small area of the original song Yingxing memorial hall, the poor building conditions and the insufficient exhibition conditions, it was unable to fully display the achievements of song Yingxing and his book Tiangong Kaiwu. The new memorial hall is located in songyingxing Park, Yingxing agricultural science and technology demonstration park in Fengtian Industrial Park, covering an area of 60 mu. It has built one main hall (Chen Zhan, song Yingxing's life and achievements in Tiangong Kaiwu) and two branch halls (introducing the contents of science and technology in Tiangong Kaiwu in volumes 18).

Functions of the new library

The theme orientation of the newly-built song Yingxing Memorial Hall focuses on the combination of exhibition and popular science education function of historical celebrity hall, and the combination of patriotism education function and leisure and entertainment function. It not only fully shows song Yingxing's great life and the essence of the history of Chinese ancient science and technology reflected in the book Tiangong Kaiwu, but also shows the development history and Prospect of Chinese science and technology civilization. The museum accurately displays the history and culture of ancient Chinese science and technology, pictures and charts, and at the same time, in the form of intuitionistic, on some content that can be scene oriented, it sets up a form of leisure and entertainment with interactive participation. There are also many objects and cultural relics in the history of ancient Chinese science and technology.

Since the trial operation of the new museum, it has received more than 140 visits from leading groups of the central government, provinces, cities and counties, and received more than 20000 young students. It has effectively fulfilled the function of a popular science education base for young people. Now it has become an excellent place to serve the National Youth Students in science education activities.

Introduction to the original Museum

The song Yingxing Memorial Hall in Fengxin County is one of the top ten celebrity memorial halls in Jiangxi Province. Located in the middle of Shishan Avenue, it is a garden style antique building, covering an area of 12 mu. There are three hall style red buildings in the hall, facing south and arranged vertically. The memorial was built in November 1983 and completed in September 1987. In June 1985, the people's Government of Fengxin County issued a document to identify the "Song Yingxing Memorial Hall of Fengxin County" as a secondary institution, subordinate to the Cultural Bureau of Fengxin County. There are 7 cadres in the library, 1 with senior professional title, 2 with intermediate professional title and 3 with junior professional title. At present, there are 186 cultural relics in the collection, including 12 grade III cultural relics.
