Yanzhi lake is located in the southwest of Yuanjiang City, about 10 kilometers away from the urban area and 25 kilometers away from Yiyang City. Surrounded by lush tea hills, golden orange ridge, flowers bloom all the year round, evergreen trees, hills around the lake, lush orange, peach, tea, bamboo, red lake shoreline and green mountains and water. Especially in spring, orange spray snow, tea contains fragrance, everywhere fragrance. More than 220 kinds of aquatic animals, such as silver carp, mandarin fish, black carp, turtle and mussel, live together in the water park, playing and splashing joyfully from time to time. When we visit Yanzhi lake, we can see not only the ruins of Yaoshan ancient ferry, langgong temple and Baoen temple, but also many wonderful landscapes. Yanzhi lake has been listed as one of the top ten water landscape areas in Hunan tourism industry. It was rated as AA grade scenic spot by the Provincial Tourism Administration in May 2002. The main scenic spots are educated youth's home, beach swimming and farmhouse entertainment, two turtles worshiping the United States and sunning mimeping. More than 7 million yuan was invested by Hunan Youhua group to build the home of the educated youth, which is modeled on the rural residence where the educated youth lived when they were transferred to Yuanjiang in the 1970s. More than 100 exhibits in the supplies exhibition room of the educated youth truly represent the life of the educated youth in those years.
