Bamboo Sea

Shunan Bamboo Sea is located in Yibin City in the south of Sichuan Province, with an area of 120 square kilometers and a core scenic area of 45 square kilometers. It has eight main scenic areas and 134 scenic spots. It is composed of 27 precipitous mountains and more than 500 peaks. There are more than 400 kinds of bamboo in the scenic area, covering an area of more than 70000 mu. The branches of Phyllostachys praecox are stacked and rooted. It is lush, beautiful and magnificent.

Shunan Bamboo Sea is the largest natural bamboo forest scenic spot in the world. Its unique geographical location has created "Yunshan bamboo sea, heaven and earth". It is the world's rare and China's only bamboo culture and bamboo ecological leisure tourism destination that integrates bamboo scenery, mountains and rivers, lakes, waterfalls and ancient temples, and has a long history of human landscape. The vegetation coverage rate of Shunan Bamboo Sea is 92.4%. The scenic area is green and pleasant with fresh air. It is a natural green oxygen bar. It is also a famous film and television base in southern Sichuan. Many film and television works and variety shows, such as crouching tiger, hidden dragon, big man, big wine merchant, Fengyun 2, spring tide rolling in, warrior, and Zhejiang satellite TV's 24-hour reality show, all take the bamboo sea in southern Sichuan as the location for shooting.

Historical evolution

During the Northern Song Dynasty, the bamboo sea in southern Sichuan was known as wanlingqing. Huang Tingjian, a famous poet, came here for a visit. Seeing this sea of green bamboo, he repeatedly praised: "magnificent, bamboo waves are thousands of Li, Emei sister ears!" That is to say, holding a broom as a pen and writing "wanlingqing" on the yellow umbrella stone, hence the name.

In the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, there were relief sculptures of cliff sculptures and journey to the West stories in Xianyu cave.

In 1988, it was approved as "China National Scenic Spot".

In 1991, it was rated as "China's top 40 tourist destinations".

In 1996, Comrade Li Peng wrote an inscription "the bamboo sea in southern Sichuan is green all over the world".

In 1999, it was named "China biosphere reserve".

In 2001, it was rated as one of the first batch of national AAAA tourist areas.

In December 2003, Shunan Zhuhai passed the world "Green Globe 21" certification.

On October 23, 2005, it was rated as "China's top ten most beautiful forests".

At the end of 2007, it won the title of "ten most popular scenic spots in China" and "ten most distinctive scenic spots in China".

On August 8, 2008, the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games was held. The opening ceremony presented a dreamy and beautiful picture of the bamboo sea in southern Sichuan.

In 2009, Shunan Bamboo Sea won the world record association's largest bamboo forest scenic spot in China.

On November 18, 2009, Shunan Bamboo Sea was successfully listed in the second batch of "China double heritage" preliminary list.

In 2011, it won the honorary titles of "the most beautiful scenic spot in Sichuan panda Award" and "the most competitive first brand of green low-carbon tourism in China".

In May 2013, Shunan Zhuhai won the title of "the first brand of green natural health tourism in China".

Biological resources

The bamboo sea in southern Sichuan is a "sea of bamboo", with more than 70000 mu of green bamboo covering 27 steep mountains and more than 500 peaks. There are 58 species of bamboos belonging to 15 genera in this area. In addition to common bamboos such as Phyllostachys pubescens, Phyllostachys pubescens and Neosinocalamus affinis, there are also rare bamboos such as Phyllostachys pubescens, Phyllostachys grosvenorii, Bambusa renmian and Bambusa Yuanyang. Lush in summer and silvery in winter, it is a rare large-scale bamboo landscape at home and abroad. It is also known as the four wonders of southern Sichuan, together with dinosaurs, stone forests and hanging coffins.

In the vast bamboo sea in southern Sichuan, rare plants such as Alsophila spinulosa, orchid, Phoebe and fern also grow sporadically. According to statistics, there are no less than 200 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines produced in the bamboo sea, which can be called a large natural medicine garden. Bamboo mice, bamboo frogs, Qing chickens, Qin frogs, bamboo leaves green and other unique animals inhabit in the bamboo sea. In addition to bamboo shoots, there are many valuable fungi in the forest: Dictyophora, Hericium erinaceus, Ganoderma lucidum, pycnomyces, etc.

Xianyu cave

Xianyudong is located in the steep cliff of chaeryan in xianyudong scenic area in the southern part of bamboo in southern Sichuan. It is known as the "Pearl of bamboo sea" for its excellent natural and cultural landscape. Xianyu cave used to be a natural rock cave, more than 300 meters long, 2 to 15 meters wide and high, with a vast bamboo forest on the cave and a bamboo sea Grand Canyon at the bottom. In addition, there are temples in Xianyu cave. The hall of monks is the place where ashes are stored after the death of the past dynasties. There is a stone pagoda and 15 niches for ashes. At the entrance of Nanshan gate, there are four characters of "Xianyu Dongtian" inscribed by yin'an Taoist. There is a half couplet on the left door post: "Xiuzhen Anle is Penglai", which is said to be from yin'an Taoist.

Xianyudong was designated as the key cultural relics protection unit of Sichuan Province by Sichuan Provincial People's Government in 1990.

Guanyuntai

Guanyuntai, also known as sedan chair stone. In the pavilion, you can see the shallow hills in South Sichuan. The river is like a belt, the fields are crisscross, and there are bamboo trees everywhere. Further away, it is the mountainous area around the Sichuan basin that transits to the Yunnan Guizhou Plateau. There are two rows of mountains stretching from east to west, one is yellow mountains, the other is full of green vegetation. They are like "Yellow Dragon" and "green dragon", swimming side by side, protecting this geomantic treasure land of bamboo sea in southern Sichuan.

At the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in China, hundreds of beautiful dreamlike pictures of turtles celebrating their birthday were presented to all the audience. "Yunshan bamboo sea, heaven and earth" can be fully reflected.

Longyin Temple

Longyin temple, also known as Longwei temple, is located on Jiulong Mountain, 980 meters above sea level. The temple covers an area of 450 square meters. There are green waves on all sides, and the sky is vast. The wind blows and the bamboo waves sound like Longyin, so it is called Longyin temple. Built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620), there were main hall, lower hall and side hall. During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Shang Hui and Shang Xiu were in charge. In 1959, it was demolished, and there are still footstones, steps and stone door frames. On the frames, there is a couplet: "two trees insert green clouds, the Dragon sings and the tiger roars, and the sky is blue and the sky is clear on all sides.".

Longyin temple stone carving was listed as the fourth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units by Sichuan Provincial People's Government in 1996.

Qinglong Lake
