brief introduction
Ganzi temple is located on the hillside beside Ganzi County. Its architectural style is a combination of Tibetan and Han. The temple is a Gelug Sect with a history of 339 years. It was destroyed during the cultural revolution and rebuilt around 1980. There are more than 400 monks in the temple. Suonan Renqin, a cadre of the temple management committee, introduced the situation of the temple and showed us around the Sutra halls. The main hall is divided into four floors: the first floor is the Sutra hall; the second floor is the Dharma protection temple; the third floor is the Qiangba Buddha Hall; and the fourth floor is dedicated to juawo Rinpoche, who was invited by India.
Ganzi County is an important town in the North Sichuan Tibet line, with a large scale. The next day I went to Ganzi temple and saw a lot of Tibetan knives and old-fashioned guns in the Dharma temple. It is said that the local Tibetans offered sacrifices to the temple to show their determination not to kill any more. The same is true of the Dharma shrine in Qamdo. The temples in Anduo and Weizang areas have never been seen before. Xianggen living Buddha, the 57 year old leader of Ganzi temple, is vice chairman of Ganzi County CPPCC. Xianggen lineage began in 1846 and has been handed down to the third generation. The first lineage is one of the three candidate Lingtong of the 11th Dalai Lama. After the 11th Dalai Lama was determined by lot drawing from the Golden Vase, one of the Lingtong who failed to be elected was Xianggen I, who was named luorongchochen and luosangkezhu. The lineage of Xianggen living Buddha is closely related to the chieftain family of Ganzi kongsa.
ally
Ganzi temple is one of the 13 hol temples. Since its completion, the 13 hol temples have been well cared by the seven hol chieftains, and have formed a close political and religious relationship with them. Among them, Ganzi temple has the closest relationship with kongsa chieftain.
Ganzi temple is located in Ganzi County, with village nizacang and ambazacang. The former is a school specializing in Xianzong, while the latter is a school specializing in Mizong. There were more than 3000 monks living in temples in history. From the perspective of the leadership of the temple, the "gengcao" (deacon) of Ganzi temple was appointed by the Tusi of kongsa and Tusi of Mashu respectively. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Tusi of Mashu was appointed by the Tusi of kongsa alone. The highest monk in the temple is Xianggen living Buddha. Several Xianggen Living Buddhas in history all came from the konsa family. Judging from the daily relationship between the temple and the chieftain, Ganzi temple holds a big prayer meeting every January of the Tibetan calendar. During the Dharma Assembly, 21% of the alms received by the temple were sent to kongsa Tusi every day. On December 28 of the Tibetan calendar every year, the chieftain of kongsa will present a large garden cake (weighing about 1 jin) to the lamas and Zaba in the temple as new year's greetings. When the chieftain of kongsa had a dispute with the government or other chieftains, the monks of Ganzi temple came forward to mediate. In case of armed conflict, temples are often the backbone of the armed forces of the chieftains of konsa. During the "Ganzi incident" in 1939 (the armed conflict between the Ganzi Panchen Xingyuan and kongsa Tusi and the Kuomintang 24 Army), the Ganzi Lama organized a death squadron to fight for the Panchen Xingyuan and kongsa Tusi. The relationship between Ganzi temple and kongsa chieftain played an important role in consolidating their religious power and political power.
