Danyang is the hometown of the emperors of Qi and Liang dynasties in the Southern Dynasties. In order to highlight this feature and further enrich and improve the museum display, the city museum began to readjust the layout of exhibits, increasing the variety and quantity of cultural relics on display, increasing the number of cultural relics on display from 176 to 250. In terms of layout, the original simple "general history of China" exhibition was changed, and the exhibition hall on the second floor was changed to the Qi Liang culture theme exhibition hall, displaying 90 pieces (groups) of cultural relics from the Qi and Liang dynasties of the Six Dynasties, including celadon chicken head pot, tiger, currency of the Six Dynasties, etc. At the same time, the exhibition hall of "general history of China" on the first floor has also been adjusted to increase the number of cultural relics unearthed in Danyang in recent years, many of which meet the public for the first time. At the same time of displaying cultural relics, the city museum also added a lot of cultural relics knowledge introduction on the wall.

Collection

The only stone carving of Song Dynasty "ancient tomb stone horse" found in Danyang City has been placed in the museum compound of the city.

Danyang Museum

This stone horse was discovered in the archaeological excavation of changwan village in the Development Zone in the city not long ago. In this archaeological excavation, a complete epitaph was unearthed. According to the epitaph records, this is the tomb of Shao Kang and his wife, the Minister of zhuizanghubu in the Northern Song Dynasty. The stone horse is undoubtedly the tomb of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is reported that this stone horse is the only stone carving of Song Dynasty tomb found in the city.

It is understood that a large number of stone carvings were left in ancient tombs in Danyang City. In addition to the well-known tombs of the Southern Dynasties at home and abroad, most of the stone carvings left are of the Ming Dynasty, such as the tomb carvings of Chu Mao, a Ming Dynasty official who was originally located near Yangjiazhuang outside the west gate of the city.

In order to protect this precious cultural relic of the Song Dynasty, Danyang Cultural Department organized a special person to move the stone horse to the courtyard of the city museum and put it together with Chu Mao's tomb stone carvings of the Ming Dynasty.

Although I visited four books about the private museum before I went to Danyang, I was still shocked after I got off the bus. Rows of stone carvings from Han Dynasty to six dynasties, like guards, are dazzling: bloody BMW, Chen, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Maitreya, etc

The owner, Mr. Chen Fengjiu, introduced his collection like a treasure. It can be seen that the owner is devoted to studying and deeply loving his collection. After seeing many national museums at home and abroad, it is only in Danyang that we can still scream. When we see stacks of bronze mirrors hidden in the underground palace, when the bold master asks us to use the sword of the king of Yue and tells us that we can ward off evil spirits, when the solitary gilded bronze mirrors appear in front of us, he Shixiu's blessings will be in the twinkling of an eye!

Mr. Chen has been the factory director for 28 years, but he has always remembered his father's last words: "you should not be a big official, you should do big things." Those who achieve great things must have ancestral precepts! Many people will lose their way when they have money, but Mr. Chen has found a hobby that he can enjoy in his life.

Mr. Chen's collection has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars at home and abroad, and has become the first collector in Jiangsu Province. He has been instructed by Mr. Zhang Pusheng, Mr. Shi Shuqing, Mr. Xu Bangda and researcher Xiao Menglong. However, Mr. Chen is still hidden and is still making preparations for the new museum. He has come to another level on the road of collection, and donation has come into his thinking.

Antiques collection has existed for a long time. The collectors take pleasure in owning them all their lives. They even gamble with the world and bury the treasures with them. The emperors and generals are no exception. After having numerous treasures, Mr. Chen is most eager to give back to the society so that future generations can learn and appreciate them systematically, leaving a "political achievement" for Danyang and a legacy for the people of Jiangsu. If you can't appreciate it, no matter how good it is, it can only be put in the warehouse. If you don't know its historical background and cultural relic value, it's a pity for collectors. Mr. Chen's appreciation level has been recognized by mainstream collectors in China, especially for bronze mirrors and high ancient porcelain, said Mr. Xu Yaoxin, President of Wujin collectors association. He is also very willing to communicate with his peers and thinks that communication is a very good means.

As night fell, the hospitable host took out the private dishes of the house to treat us. After a few cups of old wine, we had a good conversation.
