Pukou park is located in Pukou Town, Pukou District, on the North Bank of the Yangtze River, with a total area of 10.47 hectares, water surface area of 1.33 hectares and green space rate of 87%. It is a comprehensive park under the jurisdiction of Pukou District. The park was planned to be built in 1951. The district government appropriated reed beach land to build the park for work relief. Because of the landscape, the park was built on the low side of the river pool, abandoned soil to cultivate hills, and dug into two lakes and ponds, covering an area of 7000 square meters, with a channel of about 1600 meters. There was a small island in nanchipei, on which a hexagonal pavilion was built. On the side of the park near the highway, there is a children's playground with traditional simple children's amusement facilities. In the east corner of the park, there is a three curve flower Gallery, and there are iron and wood armchairs in the forest and beside the pool for tourists to rest.
In 1952, the park was built, known as "liangpu Park", under the leadership of Pukou District construction section greening team, becoming the first district park in Nanjing. In 1955, the park was renamed Pukou people's Park. In 1959, the green team and Pukou park were merged into the District Municipal Corporation. After ten years of "Cultural Revolution", the hexagonal pavilion was in disrepair, many greenhouses were occupied by residents, and there were few flowers and trees left. In 1976, the park built a wall of 950 meters, built two box office rooms of 45.8 square meters, and opened the South Gate of the park. In 1979, the green team system was restored, and the park was still under the leadership of the green team. In 1980, Pukou was divided into Pukou District and Dachang District, and the greening team was separated accordingly. Pukou greening team was renamed Pukou Landscaping Management Office, and the park was subordinate to it. In 1981, the exhibition greenhouse was built. In 1983, the outer garden was rebuilt and the hexagonal pavilion was rebuilt. In 1984, a 5400 square meter children's paradise was built, including Qifang garden, artificial lake, waterside pavilion, rockery and lawn. In 1991, yuanzhongyuan was completed with a construction area of 500 square meters, and Jinlan Pavilion, also known as another garden, was built. So far, Pukou park has greatly changed its appearance, with a complete range of sightseeing, entertainment, sports and services.
