The exhibition hall of 129 division is located on jiangjunling near Chian village, Shexian County, Handan City, Hebei Province, one mile away from the former site of the headquarters. The building area of the exhibition hall is 2252 square meters, which is divided into five exhibition rooms, a preface hall and a half view mural room of "marching into Taihang".

From Shexian County, Deng Xiaoping, the chief designer of China's reform and opening up, 2 marshals, 3 generals, 18 generals, 48 generals, 295 major generals, and nearly 100 leaders of the 129th division have held important positions in the country, which is known as the cradle of China's second generation of leaders.

In Handan, the North China finance and Economics Conference and the meeting of Liu Deng's army's expedition to the South were held. It is also the birthplace of people's daily, people's pictorial, Taihang edition of Xinhua daily and the first volume of selected works of Mao Zedong. North China Xinhua radio, the predecessor of the Central People's broadcasting station, started broadcasting in Shexian County, Handan, and the head office of the Bank of Southern Hebei, one of the predecessors of the people's Bank of China, was born in Shexian County, Handan. Zuo Quan, Xu Qianqian and Liu Bocheng were all buried in Handan.

In September 1937, the 129th division of the Eighth Route Army, under the leadership of Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping and other division leaders, was ordered to cross the Yellow River eastward, advance into Taihang, plan Chian village in Shexian County, and bathe in blood for thousands of miles in Taihang Mountain. It launched the famous battles and campaigns of changshengkou, shentouling, xiangtangpu in the Anti Japanese War, Shangdang, pinghan in the war of liberation.

In June 1940, the 129th division stationed in Changle Village, Shexian County, Hebei Province. In December of the same year, it moved to Chian village, Shexian County, and left Shexian county at the end of December 1945. During the eight years of the Anti Japanese War, she had been stationed in Shexian for nearly six years. Taking Shexian as the center, she established the largest, most populous and most consolidated Anti Japanese base area in China. As a result, Shexian became the hinterland and capital County of the base area in the border region of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan. Located in the outpost of the Anti Japanese war in North China, Shexian was a strategic area of the Anti Japanese war in North China. There were more than 110 party, political, military, financial, cultural and other organs in Shexian Long term presence.

Introduction to the exhibition hall

The 129th division exhibition hall records and inherits the history and spirit of the Anti Japanese war. From the first few Sihe courtyards, it has developed into a multi-functional and all-round patriotism education base integrating visiting, looking forward to and learning. The former site preserved in its original appearance, the exhibition hall with advanced exhibition contents and the grand general cemetery jiangjunling are the combination of the formation and value of the three groups of buildings It is rare in the whole country.

There are more than 500 pieces of weapons, ammunition, entertainment equipment and other combat and daily necessities used by soldiers of the Eighth Route Army of 129 division, as well as command knives, cars and other items seized by the Japanese army.

The exhibition hall of "we are on Taihang Mountain" consists of a preface hall, five exhibition rooms and a half view gallery. Centering on the theme of "we are on the Taihang Mountain", it is divided into four parts, reflecting the glorious course of the 129th division of the Eighth Route Army's transferring to Taihang, creating the Anti Japanese base area of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan, leaping into the Dabie Mountains and making historic contributions to the cause of the liberation of the Chinese nation.
