Origin of village name
Wahutong is the name of an ancient village. The villages of Chang'an and Wannian counties before Sui and Tang Dynasties were collected in the annals of Chang'an County compiled after the founding of new China.
In the Ming Dynasty, it was called "Honggu township" and belonged to weiquli, Xianning county. In the Ming Dynasty, a brick and tile factory was built. To distinguish it from the South Duguang Temple (South kiln), it was named "BeiYao" village. In the Ming Dynasty, Malay, the capital, lived here. Together with other dignitaries, Cui and Yu, they set up castles here and changed their name to "Wayao Hutong". The gate of the king's castle, known as "little Nanjing", is arrogant and condescending. It is located on the high hillock and dragon vein. The Xiaoqiang city is separated from the outside. The market in the castle is prosperous. There are restaurants, cigarettes, prostitutes, gambling, arts, and so on. The dignitaries and people flow back. It is a school of singing and dancing, which has reached its peak.
In the Qing Dynasty, the annals of Xianning county were recorded as nanzhaowa Hutong, while the annals of Chang'an two counties in Xianning were recorded as the north and South communities of wahutong, which was called wahutong in the Republic of China.
Scenic Spots and Historical Sites
There are many historical sites, many of which still remain in people's memory. The ancient pagoda tree in baijiaxiang, the tomb of Bai Juren, the brother of Bai Juyi, the great poet of Tang Dynasty, is still sealed in the courtyard of Bai Sixin, the Yaowang cave, the main hall of Guanyin Temple in wangjiaxiang, the Guandi temple in baijiaxiang and the Guanyin Bodhisattva temple in hanjiaxiang( There are also the epitaph of Cui Gong, the magistrate of Qinzhou in Ming Dynasty, recorded in the National Museum of cultural relics, the epitaph of Liu Gong, the commander of general Wei in Ming Dynasty, and the epitaph of emperor duxun in seven streets of Youjie in Tang Dynasty. There is a large mound in the west of the village, namely "Temple of heaven", which is the place where the emperor of the Tang Dynasty worshipped heaven. It has been protected and rebuilt by the state for tourists to visit. The millennium old acacia tree in Baijia Lane in the village is still flourishing.
According to the old people in the village, before the founding of the Qing Dynasty and the people's Republic of China, most of the land in the area of "Jiujing and shibazhai" in Chang'an County belonged to the Zhu surname in wahutong, which was one of the reasons why Chang'an County was divided in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the land belonged to Chang'an County, and then the village was divided into the jurisdiction of Xi'an city. When Zhu villagers worship their ancestors every year, at the second Tomb of Xi'an tuberculosis hospital, the "second tomb" is the tomb of the seventh generation descendants of Zhu Yuanzhang. It is located in the hospital of Xi'an tuberculosis hospital northwest of Nanyao village, changyanbao street. The height of the big tomb is 10 meters and the perimeter is 88 meters. Due to the excavation of infrastructure, the northern side of the tomb is sealed and damaged, and the weeds are luxuriant (see "Yanta District annals" 736).
During the period of the Republic of China, song Liankui's private garden, song garden, became a place for patriotic and democratic people from all walks of life to resist imperialism and reactionary warlords. During the Anti Japanese War, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Lin Boqu, Li Zongren, Zhu Qinglan, song Bolu, Wu Yunfu and other senior personages often gathered, visited and met with celebrities from all walks of life. At that time, Lin zhuowu, the chief inspector of the third military post section of Zhonghua post, met with Lin Boqu, the director of the Eighth Route Army Office, many times and discussed state affairs during the period when "Shaanxi post administration" and "Xi'an post administration" moved to Songjia garden. Later, on the proposal of the Communist Party of China, he personally went to Yan'an to discuss postal matters in the Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia border region, and was praised by Mao Zedong, Zhu De and Ye Jian Britain and other high-level officials of the Communist Party of China received each other cordially and finally reached an agreement on postal communication between the two countries. In May 1945, Zhou Enlai went to Chongqing and passed through Xi'an. At the invitation of major general Lin zhuowu, he presented the current affairs report on the situation and Countermeasures of the Anti Japanese War to the post office of Shaanxi Province on May 9, and wrote an inscription to Lin zhuowu that "the postal service is a long way away, and the national context is closely related to it". It greatly encouraged the postal workers. Later, many villagers took part in the postal revolution.
Village geography and humanity
Wahutong has experienced more than 1400 years of historical vicissitudes, mainly with Wang, Bai, Han, Chen, Li, sun, Gou, Cui, Fu, Yu, Zhu and other surnames. The origin of wahutong is mostly officials and descendants of celebrities. For example, "Bai's genealogy is ranked by Bai Juren and Bai Juyi" (see Yanta District annals, P. 735), while Zhu's family is the royal family and descendants of Ming Dynasty. Now in the tuberculosis hospital of Xi'an, "the second Tomb of Zhu family is the tomb of the seventh generation of descendants of Zhu Yuanzhang" (refer to "annals of Yanta District", P. 736). The surname Cui is said to be the descendant of the minister, the surname Yu is said to be the descendant of the official, and the surname Li is said to be the descendant of Li Wenzhong All these need further research.
Walking into wa hutong is like walking into the eight trigrams maze. The streets are crisscross, with seven corners and eight turns. The village used to be known as "seven streets and eight villages". Now seven streets are still in eight villages. Seven streets are called East Street, main street, West Street, South Street, North Street, Southeast street and northwest street. The "seven villages" in the village have changed since the founding of new China. Now they are divided into streets and lanes. They are wangjiaxiang, hanjiaxiang, East Street, baijiaxiang, zhongshizi and baozi.
Wangjiaxiang is located in the southwest of the village. It is composed of South Street and West Street in the past. The main surname is Wang Zong, with Fu surname and other surnames. According to the old man, most of his ancestors migrated from Shanxi, Henan and other places in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Wangjiaxiang was the initiator of "Beishe" in the village. The villagers were good at percussion music with gongs and drums. The score they hit was a rare "zazipu" in Shaanxi Province. In March 1990, they became Lixi troupe and were absorbed as members of Shaanxi Percussion Music Association.
Baijiaxiang is located in the southeast of the village. It is the location of the first and seventh groups of the village. There are 206 families and 559 people. The main family name is Bai, and other family names are also included. So it is named. One group is laojiexiang, and there is still a tree of the ancient Tang Huai tree with luxuriant branches and leaves. Most of the family names are said to have migrated from Shanxi and Henan in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. According to the records, the ancestor of the Bai family is a descendant of Bai Juren, the elder brother of Bai Juyi, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty. Up to now, the Bai family has provided the tablets of Bai Juyi and Bai Juren. There is a tomb of Bai Juren in the backyard of Bai Sixin's family. There are many politicians in the government, who are good at literature and music. They are the birthplace of "Nanshe" in the village.
Hanjiaxiang (majiaxiang) is located in the north of the village, so it used to be called Beijie; laojiexiang (East) is called majiaxiang because Ma clan is the old resident of the village, and hanjiaxiang is in the West. In recent years, the Han clan has developed rapidly, and over time, it is collectively known as hanjiaxiang. In 1990, a new residence named "Xinzhuangzi" was developed in the north of waxiao. It is said that most of the ancestors came from Shanxi, Henan, Sichuan, Fufeng and Shandong in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and they are the side branches of the "Beishe" of the drum music club in the village.
Baozi is located in the northeast corner of the village. In the past, there was a city and a fort gate. It was located on the highland of the village, so it was named. It is the place where the six groups live, with Yu and Cui as the main surnames, followed by other surnames. It is said that Chang Weiqing, the ancestor of Chang's surname, was the assistant of Li Yizhi, a water conservancy expert. Later, he took care of song Liankui's "Song garden" to raise the age of heaven. There were Mr. Cui Weixin, the director of Xinmin primary school, who dared to face up to the crime and plead for the people's orders. There were Mr. Cui Zhibin, a man of Arts and martial arts, and Mr. Wang Xufei, a modern relief artist.
Dongjie, also known as Zhengjie, gets its name because it is located in the northeast of the village. It is the site of the fifth group of the village. Before the 1960s, it was often the site of the ancient village fair
