Wanrongdong Yue Temple
Wanrong Dongyue Temple is a Chinese Taoist architecture. In Wanrong County, Shanxi Province (gujiedian town). The founding date is unknown. It was built in the Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty (627-649), rebuilt in the 28th year of Yuan Dynasty to the first year of Dade (1291-1297), and expanded and repaired in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The main buildings of Wanrong Dongyue Temple are Feiyun tower, Meridian Gate, Xiandian, Xiangting, Tianqi Dadi hall and bedchamber. Among them, the Feiyun building is beautiful in shape and ingenious in structure combination, which gives full play to the advantages of Chinese architectural techniques. It is a rare material material in the existing ancient buildings.
Wanrongdong Yue Temple, announced by the State Council of the people's Republic of China as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 1988.
Temple structure
Wanrong East Yue Temple, flying cloud floor square plane, triple eaves, two, three floors, the lower part of the platform and flat seat, made of two dark layer, is actually five. The building is 23.19 meters high with six storey eaves, just like three single buildings, so it is gorgeous and magnificent, without a sense of rigidity.
Architectural features
The first floor of Wanrong East Yue Temple is square, with five rooms (12.28 meters) on each side. The Ming room is larger, 3.16 meters. It is composed of eaves columns and inner columns. The second floor is in the square plane, with three rooms protruding from each side of the building. There are five rooms on each side of the third floor, with a width of 8.68 meters and a narrow space. Each side of the eaves should protrude from the mountain flowers, and the roof should be covered with a cross shaped roof. The lower part of the second, third and second floors is provided with a low column frame, and the forehead square and Dougong are made into a flat seat. The flat seat is enclosed with a hook bar and a waist eaves.
Wanrong East Yue Temple, the building with four pillars as the backbone of the building structure, 15.45 meters high. Among the layers, there are multi-layer beams, such as forehead beam, intermediate beam, floor beam, interpenetrating beam and flat beam, which are connected with each other and tied inside and outside to form a huge square tubular frame.
Temple Decoration
The shape and structure of Dougong in feiyunlou are very varied. The number of Dougong in almost every floor is different from that of angqiao. There are grasshopper head, single floating cloud, dragon head, cirrus and so on; Jiaoke youang has elephant nose and dragon head, and there are two kinds of piano face and Ruyi head. It's very decorative.
The six story eaves and plane changes, as well as the wing angle and Xieshan setting, make the appearance of Feiyun building rich and changeable, which shows the unique plastic art of Chinese Pavilion style architecture, and also reflects the proficiency of ancient architectural technology.
