Development history
The old lighthouse is located on the slope of the headland of 86.7 meters above the old fellow in the southwest of old fellow iron mountain. It is surrounded by three sides and has a backdrop. The height of the tower is 14.2 meters, and the body of the tower is cylindrical. It was set up by the Qing government in 1893 and has a history of more than 100 years. The main parts of the lighthouse were imported from France in 1892. After liberation, oil lamps were replaced by electric lamps, ancient machines were replaced by electric motors, and radio beacons were built.
At night, the lighthouse spins two crisscross beams of light, cutting through the sea and sky, guiding the course of the ships from south to north. It stands at the end of the world and the corner of the sea. Witnessed the vicissitudes of life, for the motherland's modern maritime traffic continues to provide great convenience.
In 1997, it was rated as a world historical Lighthouse by the international navigation mark Association. In 2003, it was designated as a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Liaoning Province. In 2013, it was selected as the seventh batch of national key cultural relic protection units. In July 2013, the Twelfth National Games was successfully collected under the old fellow lighthouses.
