Hebei Xisan interior painting Museum and Shijiazhuang folk arts and Crafts Museum are a folk art museum integrating excavation, collection, inheritance, exhibition and marketing, which was built on the original site of the cinema after four years of cooperation between Shijiazhuang people's cinema and Hengshui Xisan interior painting art Co., Ltd.

It was named after Wang Xisan, the founder of Ji School of interior painting.

Development history

On June 29, 2010, Hebei Xisan interior painting Museum and Shijiazhuang folk arts and Crafts Museum held opening ceremony in the provincial capital. Hebei Xisan interior painting Museum and Shijiazhuang folk arts and crafts museum have a building area of 8000 square meters, with a total investment of nearly 30 million yuan. Shijiazhuang people's cinema and Hengshui Xisan NeiHua Art Co., Ltd. jointly build a folk art museum integrating excavation, collection, inheritance and exhibition in the original site of the people's cinema after more than four years of efforts.

According to reports, the museum is divided into eight floors, born from the people's cinema, the oldest cinema in the provincial capital. In the sharing hall and exhibition hall on the first floor, there are a great variety of fine interior paintings in various shapes, such as penholder, screen, vase and crystal ball. The second floor focuses on the art of interior painting, including detailed introduction of cigarette sets, materials, and types of snuff bottles, as well as a large collection of snuff bottles. "This is the first time that a large collection of snuff bottles has been displayed in front of people in the provincial capital." Wang ziyong, director of Xisan interior painting Museum, said. In addition to interior paintings, Shijiazhuang folk arts and Crafts Museum and Hebei Arts and crafts hall on the third floor of the museum also gather more than 20 intangible cultural heritages of Shijiazhuang and Hebei, such as Quyang stone carving, Yishui inkstone, Tangshan Shadow play, Handan black pottery, etc. These exhibits are masterpieces of many folk crafts masters in Hebei Province, representing the highest level of folk crafts in Hebei Province and reflecting the profound cultural foundation of Hebei Province. The museum also has a mobile exhibition hall throughout the year, and will continue to introduce and hold excellent folk art touring exhibitions from all over the country.
