Zhiyuan tower, the name of the tower takes the meaning of "peace to Zhiyuan". Located in Beining Park, Hebei District, Tianjin, it is an octagonal plan with reinforced concrete frame tube structure. The tower is equipped with spiral two-way stairs and elevators. There are 122 murals for viewing. It is a classic high-rise landscape in Tianjin. It was started in 1985 and completed in five years.

Zhiyuan tower is located in the northernmost part of Zhongning garden in Beining park. It is a new antique high-rise landscape in Jinmen. Zhiyuan tower is built in the middle of the courtyard, with a vertical flower gate in the East, West and north of the corridor as the entrance. Flowers and trees are widely planted in the courtyard, and the corridor can also be used as an exhibition gallery.

Zhiyuan tower has 9 floors, 74.4 meters high, covering an area of 1300 square meters, equivalent to 24 floors, octagonal plane, reinforced concrete frame tube structure.

The tower has 9 floors, 8 sides and 72 ridges. The eaves are covered with yellow glazed tiles. There are 4 kg jingque bells hanging from each eaves. The three or four level wind can blow the swinging leaves and ring the long bell.

The lower layer of the tower has a double deck platform, inlaid with grass white jade xumizuo and Han white jade fence.

There are elevators and 320 double spiral stairs in the tower, leading to the highest level. If it clears up after the rain, from the top of the tower, you can see the harbor in the East, the sea and the sky are the same, and the mountains are rolling in the West. Looking up at the sky, the clouds are low, and the birds are flying in the air. Guide Jingu and have a panoramic view.

The site of the tower is flat, and a flower pavilion with yellow glazed tile top has been built in the south.

Zhiyuan tower is built on the extension line of the central axis of the flower exhibition hall. The three sides of the tower are surrounded by long corridors to form a rectangular courtyard with the flower exhibition hall.

Main landscape

From the front to the top of the tower, the cultural characteristics of Zhiyuan tower will be found. It shows the 5000 year history of Chinese civilization, and there are indeed three wonders to praise.

First, there is a pair of stone lions in the Jin Dynasty in front of the tower; second, there is a long couplet on the vermilion column in front of the arch outside the tower summarizing the achievements of Chinese ancient and modern culture; third, there are 60 stone carvings and 64 porcelain plate murals hanging on each layer inside the tower.

artistic characteristics

An elevator is set in the middle of the tower, and a spiral staircase is set around the elevator shaft. Outside the stairs, there are two circles of frame columns, the inner circle column is connected up and down, and the outer circle column is retracted inward to form the outer contour of the tower. The height of each meter is retracted 22.5MM to the center.

On the first floor, a circle of veranda will be built with cantilever beams on the veranda columns, which will be used as vertical lotus columns, curtain cages, flower boards and sparrows, so as to enlarge the volume of the first floor, widen the roof and extend the eaves.

In order to set off the body of the tower, the base is also increased correspondingly. A two-layer xumizuo type platform foundation is adopted, with vertical bands on all sides of each layer. Each layer of the platform foundation is equipped with white jade stone Doushu column and hook piece railings.

Square beams and simple brackets are made on the corner columns of each external wall, two layers of reinforced concrete braces are overhanging, the reinforced concrete roof panel supporting double-layer rafters is supported, six yellow glazed tiles are made on the board, flat seat brackets are made on the ridge walls of each roof, and the upper circle flat seat is supported.

The flat seat is also equipped with prefabricated Dou Zi Shu Zhu hook bar for visitors to view from the bar. There are no windows on the walls of each floor, only four half round ticket doors.

The ticket doors on the upper and lower floors are staggered. Each layer of the interior also has enough lighting area and a relatively complete interior wall for inlaying art works reflecting the cultural achievements of Chinese dynasties.

The central frame tube of the tower is an elevator shaft, and the elevator can reach all floors above from the base of the platform. It is open for tourists at ordinary times and can avoid climbing.

The elevator machine room and equipment room use the space in the octagonal cusp roof, and two wide stairs are set outside the central tube, circling up and down the elevator shaft.

The interior space of the base can be used as a tea room or a cold coffee shop.

The tower brake is made of bronze, the center support is steel pipe with inner diameter, the lower end is embedded in the nine storey reinforced concrete floor, and it is also used as the guide channel of navigation light.

The red light of navigation mark is placed in the spherical glass polyhedron "round light" on the dry brake, the lightning rod is higher than the brake top, and the conductor is led into the underground by the reinforcement in the reinforced concrete column.

Copper bells hang from the ends of the roof beams on each floor. When the breeze blows, it sounds pleasant.

The eight bronze tower cables on the top of the brake were supposed to be connected to the ends of the sagging ridges, but only to the back of the sagging beast for economic reasons.

The paint on the cement mortar surface of the outer wall is not deep enough, so that the color of the distant wall can not be more clearly separated from the gray of the column and beam face.

The eaves of the eaves on each floor are made of yellow glazed tiles. The eaves under the dripping water were originally intended to be painted red to match the white rafters. It not only enhances the visual effect of the eaves on each floor, but also echoes the color of the first floor.

Architectural history

In 1985, Zhiyuan tower began to be built, which took five years to complete.

In 2010, Zhiyuan tower, the landmark of Ningyuan, was upgraded and renovated.

Among them, the most important is the gold decoration on the top of the tower. More than 10000 pieces of pure gold foil decorate the top of the tower. Under the sunlight, it is even more golden.

The traditional process of gilding can make the color and persistence of gold reach the best effect, which can not fade for 30 years.

The tower is also equipped with a night lighting system.

When the night comes, the whole tower is illuminated by the light, and the outline is more charming.

Internal renovation is in progress. Zhiyuan tower is a nine storey tower, 74.24 meters high. Its name is taken from the famous sentence in Zhuge Liang's book of admonishment: "you can't reach far without tranquility". You can have a panoramic view of the garden from a high altitude.

During the renovation, nine bronze sculptures, including "revolutionary forerunner Zhou Enlai", "rotary student Chen Shengshen", "drama star Cao Yu", "first scholar Liang Qichao", "Great Master Li Shutong", "Zhongshan's visit to Tianjin", "Beiyang industrialist Zhou Xuexi", "Hebei New Area" and "Tianjin Palace", were built in the courtyard to narrate the history of Tianjin.

It and Zhiyuan tower, one high and one low, take care of each other, complement each other, very appropriate.

In addition, an exhibition hall of Beining park will be set up under the Zhiyuan tower to introduce the history of Beining Park and the plan, process, technology and materials of the restoration project, to show the tools used in the restoration and the photos of the community participating in the upgrading and reconstruction of Beining Park, so as to show the profound Chinese traditional architectural culture and the attention of the community to Beining park.
