About the park

Nanguan Park was built in 1956 and named "Nanguan Park" according to the common name of local residents. In 1989, Nanguan park set up a park management office, which was officially opened on October 1, 1992. At that time, the park covered an area of 2.62 hectares. The overall layout of the park was mainly natural, and plant landscaping was mostly used. According to its functions, it can be divided into children's activity area in the East, elderly activity area in the west, open-air dance hall in the northwest corner and comprehensive activity area in the middle, so as to meet the needs of tourists of different ages , entertainment, fitness, sightseeing needs.

In April 2002, the Dongcheng District Party committee and the Dongcheng District government carried out a comprehensive transformation of the park in view of the shortage of water resources in Beijing, in combination with the launch of Beijing Green Olympic Action Plan and the overall plan of Dongcheng District's environmental construction. On September 28, 2002, Nanguan Park, the first ecological water landscape garden in Beijing, was officially built.

After completion, Nanguan Park covers a total area of 3 hectares. The construction style takes "waterscape" as the theme, and uses reclaimed water to artistically include natural boundary rivers, lakes, streams, streams, springs, waterfalls and other distinctive landscapes within a short space, forming natural scenic spots with different styles.
