Gongnaisi River
Gongnaisi river originates from AIKENDABAN (the junction of Xinyuan County, Yili Prefecture and Bazhou and Jingxian county), flows through Xinyuan county and is a tributary of Yili River.
Gongnaisi river is affectionately known as "anasu" by local Kazakh herdsmen, which means mother river. It flows through the whole territory of Xinyuan County, raising 300000 people in Xinyuan county and moistening 1800 square kilometers of Nalati grassland.
Gong Naisi means "Green Valley" in the Mongolian language of Wala (this is the pastoral area of Wala huite in the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties). After the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Kazakh entered ILI, and Gong Naisi means "the place where the sun comes out" in the Kazakh language.
With a total length of 258km, Gongnaisi river originates from AIKENDABAN (the junction of Xinyuan County in Ili Prefecture and gongnaisigou Township in Bazhou and Jingxian County, which is the key point of national highway 218), converges with Kashi River and Tekes River, flows into Ili River, and finally goes straight to balkashi Lake in Kazakhstan. We all know that "a river of spring water flows eastward", but this Gongnaisi river flows westward and is a counter current river. There are alpine cold water fish living in the river. The fish is round and long with delicious meat. It is a special game of Nalati.
