Xiaoliangshan
Yunnan Xiaoliangshan (Ninglang Yi Autonomous County) is located in Lijiang City, northwest of Yunnan Province, China, with Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province in the north. It is the southeast branch of Daxueshan.
history
Xiaoliangshan Yi people migrated from Daliangshan in Sichuan. In order to distinguish them from Daliangshan Yi people in Sichuan, Ninglang Yi people are generally called Xiaoliangshan Yi people. About the beginning of the 15th century, because of the tribal disputes within the Daliangshan Yi people, a group of Yi people moved to Ninglang to settle down and developed into the Xiaoliangshan Yi people.
Yi ethnic customs
Beautiful colorful skirt
Yangping township is a place with strong Yi customs in Xiaoliangshan (it used to belong to Ninglang Yi Autonomous County and was designated to Yongsheng County in 1960). More than 7000 people in the township are Yi people in Xiaoliangshan, so it retains better traditional Yi customs.
On the market day of the 2nd and 7th of every month, walking on the street of Yangping, you will feel dizzy in the bright colors like rainbow on women's skirts.
Most of the Yi people in other areas of Yunnan wear trousers, while the Yi women in Xiaoliangshan wear colorful skirts. Whether they are unmarried women in floral fringes or married women with lotus leaf octagonal hats, they will wear colorful skirts made of red, green and white or red, yellow and blue. Some women will tie a white veil or black handkerchief on their head to cover their cheeks and only show their watery eyes. This scene can be compared with the mysterious Arab women with veils. Many photographers call it "the most difficult and beautiful shot in Xiaoliangshan".
Young girls are more simple to wear. They wear pure black headscarves and have only two colors of colorful skirts.
Tough Cape
The Yi people in Xiaoliangshan also have a special kind of clothing - wool cape that is below the knee. The Cape has black and white colors, but black is the most popular. This kind of clothing decorated with tassels has multiple functions. It can be used as a coat to keep out the wind during the day and a quilt to keep out the cold at night. Although Yi men are rarely dressed in ethnic costumes, they are basically dressed by Han people, but when they put on the traditional Cape, they can still see the valiant and free and easy.
Torch Festival
It is said that a demon came to the world long ago to destroy crops, so a powerful man decided to fight with the demon, and the date was set on June 24. But they fought for three days and three nights without winning, so the people on the ground played the flute and stamped their feet to cheer for the Hercules, and finally the devil was defeated. But the devil is not reconciled, so he found a variety of pests to destroy people's crops, but people found that the torch can burn pests. In order to make people celebrate the torch festival on this day of the summer every year.
During torch festival, we should wear beautiful clothes, kill pigs and sheep, and use Baba made of new buckwheat to worship our ancestors. There are also horse racing, wrestling, bullfighting, cockfighting and other recreational activities. The liveliest thing is that in the evening, everyone holds up the torches to kill the pests. First, they circle around their homes to expel the evil and avoid the poison. Then they gather the torches together, sing and dance around the bonfire, and revel all night.
From the road next to Lingyuan temple to the northeast, you will see some girls wearing octagonal black cloth caps and colorful pleated skirts on the roadside. You will continue to walk through Zhanhe Township, Paomaping Township, xinyingpan Township and Ninglang county. You will still be attracted by the three section colorful pleated skirts on the street, which indicates that you are wearing them in the "sphere of influence" of Yi people in Xiaoliangshan that 's ok.
About 12 kilometers away from Lingyuan temple, a large reservoir can be seen on the side of the road. Next to the reservoir is Yangping Township, one of the Yi inhabited areas in Xiaoliangshan. The best travel season: the Yi people use a special calendar, the solar calendar, to divide the year into ten months, and take the cold of our 24 solar terms as the beginning of the year, and the heat as the midpoint of the year, which needs to be celebrated. Therefore, the torch festival will be held on this day (around the 24th of June in the lunar calendar).
Traffic: there are many taxis near Yongsheng passenger station to Lingyuan temple and Yangping, and there are buses to Yangping every morning.
Local food
Yi People's "seeing off dishes"
Yi people have strict family style, straightforward personality, polite and extremely hospitable. Every time a pig is slaughtered, a little bit of it will be salted and kept for guests. When the guests come to the house, they eat in general. When the guests leave, they are eager to keep them. If they can't keep them, they have to make dishes to see them off. Seeing off dishes, also known as "ten kinds of dishes", are pickled pork heart, liver, stomach, intestine and waist, which are cut into triangles. Together with ribs and fat meat, they are the three most popular seeing off dishes.
Guests should eat the dishes from the outside to the inside, that is, they should first eat the fat meat and neck meat to the liver and heart. They should not eat from the inside to the outside, and they should not "eat indiscriminately" according to their own taste, otherwise they will be considered "uncivilized" by the host. If you are a guest who doesn't know the rules, the host will put a small bowl in front of you and let you eat all the dishes in the small bowl from the outside to the inside. After dinner, after a cup of tea from the host, the guests can go.
