Located in the east of the puppet Manchukuo palace, the Northeast occupied history exhibition hall covers an area of 2.65 hectares and a construction area of 10600 square meters. It is a historical exhibition hall integrating collection, exhibition and academic activities. The museum has one floor underground and three floors above ground, which is divided into two parts: basic exhibition hall and exchange exhibition hall. The museum started construction in March 2005 and was completed that year.

The grand exhibition "don't forget September 18 - historical facts of Japan's invasion of Northeast China" is composed of three parts: conspiracy, cruelty and anti Japanese war. More than 1200 historical photos and more than 1000 precious cultural relics are displayed, using high-tech means such as sound, light and electricity.
