Xinzheng Museum

The main exhibits of Xinzheng museum are pottery and iron models, bronze ritual musical instruments, building materials such as Korean Palace door pivot and pottery tiles, and Warring States weapons unearthed from Zheng and Han's hometown in recent years. Xinzheng museum is located 300 meters to the west of Huangdi's hometown in Xinzheng City. It is the largest museum with the largest collection of cultural relics at the county (city) level in Henan Province. There are more than 60000 pieces of cultural relics in the collection, including more than 4400 pieces of cultural relics above the third level, mainly including stone grinding plates and sticks in the Peiligang culture period, and bronze ritual vessels in the spring and autumn and Warring States periods.

In September 2018, after the museum self-evaluation application, the provincial museum industry organization evaluation, the National Museum Evaluation Committee organized experts to review and report to the State Administration of cultural relics for the record, the China Museum Association decided to approve Xinzheng Museum as the third batch of national second-class museums.

Development history

Located 300 meters to the west of Huangdi's hometown in Xinzheng City, with a construction area of 2138 square meters, it is the largest county (city) level museum with the largest collection of cultural relics in China. In 1997, it was announced by the people's Government of Henan Province as the excellent patriotism education base of Henan Province.

The museum has an office, including exhibition department, storage department and security department. Xinzheng museum is a comprehensive museum at the county (city) level, with a collection of more than 60000 cultural relics, ranking in the forefront of county-level museums in Henan Province.

The main building of the museum is a two-story Xieshan style antique building, which is 43.2 meters long, 16 meters wide and 16 meters high. The main body is reinforced concrete structure, roof upper two slope, lower four slope, all with glazed tile hook, resplendent, magnificent. On both sides of the main building, there are 11 rolling shed type rooms.

Xinzheng Museum has a collection of more than 60000 pieces of cultural relics in 17 categories, including bronzes, pottery, porcelain, stone carvings, bricks and tiles. The main collections include bronze ritual instruments, weapons and daily production tools from the spring and autumn and Warring States periods, as well as pottery, stone tools and animal fossils from the Peiligang culture period. Among them, the Nama Ivory fossil 500000 years ago is 3.55 meters long, which is the longest of its kind in China.

Layout of exhibition hall

In front of the main building, there is a high ridge cornice style antique gate, which is directly under the central government. On both sides of the gate, there is a stone lion, 2 meters high. The road in the courtyard is clean and spacious, the lawn is green all the year round, and the fragrance of flowers overflows all over the courtyard. In the center of the courtyard, there is a bronze lotus crane square pot (imitation) which is a national precious cultural relic. In the East, there are monuments unearthed from the ancient artifacts of Xinzheng, Zunsheng tuoluojing tower of Tang Dynasty, and miaofe Lotus Sutra tower of Tang Dynasty. In the west, there are monuments to the Confucian Temple of Xinzheng County rebuilt in Qing Dynasty, melon skin monument, and monument to the temple of Taiqing Dynasty.

The first floor of the main building is Zheng Han cultural relics exhibition. The main exhibits are pottery models, iron models, bronze ritual instruments, building materials such as Korean Palace door pivot and pottery tiles, and Warring States weapons unearthed from the handicraft site in Zheng Han's hometown.

The second floor of the main building is the root of China. The main exhibits are: stone grinding plates and rods from the Peiligang culture period 8000 years ago, red pottery pots with double ears at the bottom of the garden; pottery and stone tools from the Yangshao culture period 5000 years ago and the Longshan culture period 3000 years ago.

Honors

For a long time, Xinzheng has made use of its rich cultural relics resources, devoted itself to local cultural relics protection, exhibition, social education, etc., and received more than 400000 visitors at home and abroad. It is an important window to show Xinzheng's long history and splendid culture. The basic exhibition is composed of "the roots of Hua Xia", which is composed of the ruins of bear's grave, the exhibition of Zheng Han's unearthed cultural relics, and the exhibition of Ji Jinbao's Bronze treasures. Based on the precious relics unearthed in Xinzheng, it highlights the essence of Xinzheng's history and culture. The other two exhibition halls are temporary exhibition halls, holding more than 30 temporary exhibitions, such as "refuse drugs, cherish life", "traditional virtues Exhibition", "100 generals Exhibition", "Hong Kong return Exhibition", "Junma chipin Shanhe spring calligraphy and painting exhibition", "youth hero Exhibition", "brilliant Xinzheng", "ancient tomb wall painting exhibition", "ancient and modern Chinese and foreign coins Exhibition", "Oracle freehand calligraphy exhibition" . In 1997, Xinzheng museum was awarded the excellent patriotic education base by the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics; in 1998, it was awarded the "advanced collective" of the national cultural relics system; in 2001, it was awarded the advanced unit of Zhengzhou cultural relics work; in 2000, it was awarded the "excellent exhibition" of Henan Cultural Relics system.

In December 2019, it won the title of "excellent County Museum of Henan Province".

There are no closing days throughout the year, 8:30-11:00 a.m., 2:00-5:00 p.m., and 3:00-6:00 p.m. in summer

It is not allowed to take pictures of the exhibits without the permission of the management personnel. 6. Keep quiet in the museum. It is forbidden to chase, fight, push, crowd and make noise. 7. Keep the library clean. It is forbidden to spit and litter. 8. Take good care of public property. Do not touch the exhibits and glass at will. In case of damage to public property, compensation shall be made in accordance with the relevant provisions of the museum. 9. Be careful of the glass and pay attention to safety. Please do not climb against or squeeze the glass display cabinet to prevent the glass from breaking, causing damage to the exhibits and injury to the body.
