Development history
Qingdao marine products Museum (namely Qingdao aquarium and Qingdao Marine Science and Technology Museum) is the only museum in China that focuses on breeding and displaying marine life. It now has five pavilions, including aquarium, exhibition hall, Antarctic Museum, freshwater fish Museum and rare and protected animal museum.
The aquarium was founded in 1931 by Cai Yuanpei, Yang Xingfo, Li Shizeng and other progressives. The first marine biology research laboratory in China was born here. Entering the aquarium is like coming to the wonderful Crystal Palace. All kinds of marine fish, shellfish, shrimps and crabs are living in the water. The design of the aquarium is quite ingenious. Large glass exhibition pools are inlaid on the four walls of the exhibition hall. Behind the exhibition pools are windows. The lighting is soft and energy-saving. It looks very clear and comfortable. There are dozens of fish in different shapes raised here. At the same time, a variety of marine life specimens are displayed.
Qingdao marine products Museum, a collection of treasures in the water, with its scientific display, shows the broad mind that the ocean breeds all things. While sightseeing, tourists also gain rich knowledge of marine science.
