In 1535, the Kunning gate was moved to the center of the North corridor behind the Kunning palace, so it was renamed today. Shunzhen gate consists of three glazed doors with walls, each of which is equipped with double real couch gates, and each of which has 9 studs. Outside the gate is beiheng street, opposite to Shenwu gate across the street. Inside the gate, Chengguang gate faces to the south. On the left and right sides of the gate, there are one East-West glazed gate, named Yanhe gate and Jifu gate. The three doors are connected by glazed low walls, forming a pocket courtyard in front of shunzhen gate.
Shunzhen gate is an important passage from the inner court to Shenwu gate. It is forbidden to open for no reason. The empress went to the silkworm altar in Xiyuan for sacrificial rites or to Yuanmingyuan, shouhuang hall and other places, and sometimes the emperor went in and out through this gate. In addition, during the period of Qin'an hall, it was opened and closed at any time for Taoists to go in and out, but it was strictly checked and no one was allowed to go in and out. In the Ming Dynasty, if a palace man died of illness, the coffin was sent out from the door on the right side of shunzhen gate. In the Qing Dynasty, the family members of the harem had been ordered to get married here, and the draft women also entered this gate. Now the building is in good condition.
