Tingfeng garden is a classical garden building built in Qing Dynasty. Qingyuanfang No.12, located next to jintaishi lane, Suzhou, was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou in 1982. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Wu Yun, a Huzhou resident who once served as the governor of Suzhou, built a house here. Because of the ancient Maple dancing in the garden, it was named "Tingfeng garden".

It is said to be the former site of Wugan Hongmei Pavilion in Song Tiansheng (1023-1031). In the third year of Tongzhi reign, Wu Yun (named Pingzhai) of Huzhou, who was once the governor of Suzhou, built his house here. The gate is at 4 jintaishi lane. At present, the school of No.2 Middle school runs factories and houses along jintaishi Lane in the south of the garden. Originally, it was the hall, sedan hall, hall and building of Wu house. Today, the garden is only the study yard area in the northeast corner of the house. There are ancient maple in the garden, so it is called Tingfeng garden. Because of its elegant pavilions and quiet rocks, it is known as the famous study garden in Wuzhong. The garden was built in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It was the former site of the Red Chamber of Wu Yingzhi, a poet of the Song Dynasty. Wu Yun, who lived in Pingzhai, studied archaeology, was proficient in calligraphy and good at collecting. He was also a connoisseur of calligraphy and painting.
After liberation in 1949, it was used in teacher training school, second middle school, Pingtan research office and Pingtan group. After 1966, the rockery was demolished, the buildings were in disrepair, and the flowers and trees withered. In 1979, more than 10 families of Pingtan actors who were sent back to the city were temporarily living here.

Because of the ancient Maple dancing in the garden, it was named "Tingfeng garden". Wu said: "the house is not wide, small flowers and trees win." It is evaluated with the "micro" of Ziju Quyuan. Wu Yunshan is a good calligrapher. He is good at collecting and appreciating gold and stone. In his early years, Wu Changshuo, a calligrapher and painter, had a good friendship with the owner of the garden. He once applied to live in the garden to teach children. He was able to observe his collection of paintings and calligraphy, and made great progress in his art.
After the death of Wu Yun in 1883, the garden gradually declined.
In 1910, the poet Zhu zumou lived in this garden.
In 1928, the garden belonged to the Chen family. It was once renovated, and then it became the owner of the garden many times.
After liberation in 1949, it was successively used by teachers' training school, No.2 Middle School, Suzhou Pingtan research office and Pingtan troupe. The buildings in the garden are divided into staff quarters.

During the "Cultural Revolution", the rockery was demolished, the ink fragrance pavilion was destroyed, the hall structure was dilapidated, and an iron frame antenna was built in the courtyard.
In 1979, more than 10 families of Pingtan actors who had been sent back to the city were temporarily living here, and they set up sheds in the courtyard for drinking.
In 1983, the units and residents in the park moved out. In May, the Cultural Bureau started the construction and renovation of the station, with a construction area of 660 square meters and a cost of 148000 yuan. One third of them were rebuilt or renovated on the ground and were completed at the end of 1984.
In the Spring Festival of 1985, Suzhou Academy of traditional Chinese painting moved in. Listening Maple Garden is located in the northeast of the residence, covering an area of 1200 square meters. In 1982, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Suzhou.

Listen to the Maple Garden to mu of land, ring curling, divided into 5 large and small courtyard combination. The main hall is in the middle of Fengxian hall, with a courtyard in the north and south. The South courtyard is luxuriant in flowers and trees, with rockery piled in the southeast corner, two poppy pavilions (Wu Yun once collected two poppies from the Marquis of Qi Dynasty, hence the name), taste house, red leaf Pavilion (now called Daishuang, but the ancient Maple has disappeared), and the pavilion of suitable natural environment.
The garden is located in the east of the residence. It is named "Tingfeng garden" because of the ancient Maple dancing in the garden. The garden covers an area of only about Mu, and is well-known for its exquisite and exquisite style. Wu Yun claims that "the house is not wide, and there are flowers and trees in it". Therefore, Yu Yue once evaluated the "essence" of Maple Garden and the "micro" of Qu Garden. When you enter the gate, you will see rockery towering and vines hanging down, just like a mountain forest in the city, "you can enjoy the scenery without leaving the city.". The main hall of the garden is the Fengxian Pavilion. In the east of the pavilion, there is a study flat. In the west of the pavilion, there is a taste house and a two-year old copper stack house.

There are two courtyards in front and rear of the maple fairy hall. The courtyard in the south is more extensive. In the northwest, there is a waiting Pavilion for frost. The southeast is stacked with stones for the mountain, and the grade can be hung on the fragrant Pavilion. The pavilion is on the mountain, and the ingenious conception is the essence of the first half garden. To the north of Xiaoge and Pingzhai, the study on the east side of tingfengxian hall, they work hard to form a separate courtyard. In the north courtyard, one of the rockeries stands. Although the rockery is small, it has winding paths and stone steps. Under the rockery, there is a small pool with clear bottom and stone steps for people to watch fish. There is a pavilion in the west corridor of the pool, a waterside pavilion in the north of the pool, flowers and trees in the garden, and curved corridors all around. In such a small courtyard, such a delicate layout shows the ingenuity of the designer, who can't help admiring the rich wisdom and great creation of the ancient Chinese working people.
Wu Yun, the owner of the garden, was fond of gold, stone, calligraphy and painting. At that time, he had a close relationship with Yu Yue, an old man of Quyuan, and Zhu jiangcai, a famous poet living in Heyuan. He often met together to exchange views on calligraphy, painting and poetry.
Listen to Fengshan Pavilion
Listening Maple Garden is located in the northeast of the residence, covering an area of 1200 square meters. The main hall "tingfengxian Pavilion" (now renamed "tingfengshan Pavilion") is located in the center of the garden, with a courtyard area in the north and south. The South courtyard is luxuriant in flowers and trees, rich in rocks and mountains. The main buildings are yuweiju, Hongye Pavilion (now known as daoshuang Pavilion), Shiran Pavilion, etc. In the north courtyard, there is a clear pool of flowers and trees. The east of the hall used to be the "Ping Zhai" of Wu Yun's study. In front of it, there is a "ink fragrance Pavilion" along the road. The lower part of the pavilion is hidden in the mountains, and the upper part is abrupt. Zhai and Ge become courtyards, which are the essence of the whole garden.
Ink fragrance Pavilion
The center of the garden is tingfengshan Pavilion, which is connected with weiweiju and liangyinxuan in the West and Pingzhai in the East. The garden is divided into North and south parts. In the southeast of Tingfeng mountain Pavilion, the mountain is made of stacked stones, on which the "ink fragrance Pavilion" is built, and separated by walls to form the "ink fragrance Pavilion" on the mountain.
Independent courtyard
It is an independent courtyard opposite to Pingzhai at the foot of the mountain. The North-South architecture, high and low, has a unique idea. From the "Ping Zhai" out of the courtyard, you can go up and down the "ink Pavilion" along the stone steps. In the west of the pavilion, there is a gate leading to the rockery of the neighboring courtyard. Turning south, you can go down the hill along the corridor in the west, or turning north, you can go down the hill along the stone steps. Most of the courtyard in front of "tingfengshan Pavilion" is paved with flower street, and the pavilions around the corridor are "waiting for frost" and "suitable for nature". On the rockery, the trees are covered with shade and flowers. The North Garden dug the pool hall in the northwest. The waterside pavilion in the north of the pool is secluded and elegant. In the south of the pool, there are rock rockeries with winding paths and scattered flowers and trees. The corridor on the west side of the pool, with a half pavilion between, is a good place to enjoy the scenery in the north. The whole garden is compact, winding and deep, and it is well known for its delicacy.
Open the half closed garden door, you can see the green. The wall is full of vigorous Parthenocissus. The tall green trees cover the small and exquisite garden. A corner of the Pavilion shows a more simple and elegant flavor among the green trees. Water is a scenic line in Suzhou gardens. Without water, the gardens will lack a kind of customs and sustenance. Listen, Maple Garden is not built on water, but is carefully designed and dug by its owner. Water around the rockery and down, according to the flow of rockery, accompanied by mountains and rivers into fun. Because there is no source of water, the water in the garden is not clear, but the colorful goldfish roam freely, adding a lot of fun.

Wu Changshuo and Tingfeng Garden
Wu Changshuo, a famous artist of calligraphy, poetry, painting and printing, was a frequent visitor to the Maple Garden. Wu Changshuo first visited Suzhou at the age of 29 (1872). In the autumn of the same year, he paid homage to Yu Yue as a teacher, visited Wu Yun, a Jinshi family, and watched Wu Yun's collection of three generations of ancient copper stacks, calligraphy and painting stones. Later, he applied to live in the garden to teach the list, and discussed the art of calligraphy and painting with the master every day. Two years later, he moved to four rooms in Xifang lane near Hanshan Temple. When he was 61 years old, he settled in "pisi hall" in Guihe square. He lived in Suzhou for a long time and got to know many famous people in Wuzhong, such as Ren Bonian, Wu Dacheng, Gu Heyi and so on. He studied all kinds of poetry, calligraphy, painting, gold and stone, which opened up his field of vision and made great progress in his art. He created a large number of calligraphy and painting works in Suzhou, Suzhou's gardens and scenic spots are ancient Many of his calligraphy, painting, ink and seal cutting works were left behind.
The owner of Tingfeng garden was Wu Yun, the magistrate of Suzhou at that time. Wu Yun was an essential literati. He had great attainments and enthusiasm in appreciating the calligraphy and painting of gold and stone. Therefore, being a parent official in Suzhou was like a fish in water.
