Tomb of Zeng Shuiyuan
Zeng Shuiyuan's tomb, located on Mu widow mountain to the east of Guiyun hall, Gulou District, Nanjing, is the only Tomb of an important figure of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in China.
The tomb of Zeng Shuiyuan is a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province.
The origin of history
In October 1953, he Leling, a student of the Affiliated Middle School of Nanjing Normal University, accidentally found a remnant tablet while playing in daijiaxiang, Gulou District, Nanjing. His father happened to be he Changqun, a famous scholar. When he heard about this, he immediately realized the value of the discovery and made the tomb a cultural protection unit.
The tomb of Zeng Shuiyuan is now in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Museum in Zhanyuan, Nanjing.
Brief introduction to the owner of the tomb
Zeng Shuiyuan, a native of Wuxuan, Guangxi, worked as a teacher in his early years and later joined the God worship Association. After the Jintian uprising, he wrote imperial edicts, wrote memorials and dealt with official documents. After the capital of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was set up in Tianjing, the official came to Tianguan as the prime minister.
He was killed in the Tianjing incident in 1855. In October 1953, the tomb was discovered and renovated by the municipal cultural relics department. The height of the tomb is about 2 meters and the perimeter of the base is 13.2 meters.
