Wufeng mountain was originally named Zhenwu mountain. It is said that in ancient times, five Phoenix fell on the top of the mountain, so it was named Wufeng mountain. It is located in the northern suburb of Wudu District, Longnan City, Gansu Province, with an altitude of 2265 meters and a vertical height of more than 1200 meters. Among the vast pine forests on the top of the mountain, there are many pavilions, flowing clouds on the painted buildings and falling clouds on the eaves. It is a famous historic spot in Longnan. Now it is a cultural relic protection unit at the county level.

Historical evolution

From the valley of the temple winding along the ridge to the top of the mountain, there are 10 Temples: Jingshou temple, yitianmen temple, Xindian temple, Fengbo temple, ertianmen temple, pingxun niche, Santianmen temple, DITI temple, Lingguan temple and Laodian temple. Most of the buildings were destroyed during the cultural revolution, except for the 15 rooms in the Jingshou hall and the old hall. In recent years, large-scale restoration work has been carried out. The old hall is built in the Ming Dynasty. It faces south from the north and stands on the top of the main peak. It was born in the sky and embedded in the blue sky. It has exquisite workmanship. The hall is magnificent. Looking up from below, it is really a castle in the air. There are two stone steles in the hall, among which the stele of protecting and carrying trees in the old hall of Mingshan (1830), which was set up in the 10th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, is particularly eye-catching. The stele records the process and situation of planting pines and cypresses, Holly and other miscellaneous trees and flowers in the mountain since the 8th year of Jiaqing reign (1803), and greening the hillside. There are also "rules for protecting trees": operating every year and not taking them privately. In case of non-compliance, the court will punish one pine tree, one peony tree, two pine trees in ertianmen hall, two pine trees and one holly tree in Fengbo hall. More than 160 years ago, this tree protection convention not only gave visitors great inspiration and education, but also received the attention of the national forestry department.

Due to strict management and active planting, the forest area of Wufeng mountain has reached more than 1200 mu. Among them, more than 110 pine trees were planted in the qingdaoguang year, with a chest circumference of more than 2 meters, tall, dense and green.

When you ascend the old hall, you can see the clouds, the pines and the buildings. Around the third day of the third lunar month, there is a traditional temple fair in Wufengshan. During the day, people are weaving. At night, the mountain is brightly lit, winding up from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, connecting with the stars in the sky, which is very spectacular.
