Haining County - a thousand year old city lost in history. According to Huilai County annals (2002 Edition), "in the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (331), Dongguan county was set up from Nanhai County, and Haining county was set up in the Western Huilai area. In the ninth year of Yixi reign (413), Yian county was demolished from Dongguan county (the county government was set up in today's Chaozhou City). Haining, Haiyang, Chaoyang, sui'an and Yizhao were subordinate counties. Haining county was removed from the song, Qi, Liang, Chen and Sui dynasties to the fourth year of Wude (621) of the Tang Dynasty and merged into Chaoyang County. " Since then, it has disappeared in the annals of history.
