In ancient times, banyan trees were widely planted on Rongshan in the northern suburb of Huilai County, so it was called Rongshan. Rongshan original Rongshi nunnery. Around the ancient nunnery, banyan trees grow with stones, while banyan trees are vigorous and dry, while stones are mottled with moss, and the trees and trees are luxuriant. According to Huilai County annals, "Rongshi mountain is located in the northern suburb of the county. There is an ancient banyan tree. It is high on the stone and worships nine sons and mothers. The people of the city pray for their descendants here.".
The monk introduced to the author: it is said that in the Ming Dynasty, there was a small temple behind the boulder, close to the boulder, worshiping the God of nine sons and mothers. There was an ancient banyan tree in the crack of the boulder. Later, the people of the city built an nunnery beside it and named it "Rongshi nunnery". According to historical records, Rongshi nunnery was founded in the eighth year of Wanli (1580) of the Ming Dynasty, and Shen Weihuang, the magistrate of Huilai County, advocated its construction in the seventeenth year of Chongzhen (1644). In the 17th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, Zhang Bingzheng, the magistrate of Huiyi County, wrote a poem: "if you want to see the folk customs, you'd like to visit linqiu on festivals. I don't know when the boulder started, but it stayed here with white clouds for a long time. Then you can climb to the top and look at the house. Why not make friends drunk. It's common for flowers and trees to be prosperous and withered. Don't feel late autumn when you visit them.
There are six stone tablets in the nunnery, which record the process of the establishment and maintenance of the nunnery over the years. During the great revolution, Comrade Peng Pai encamped here to cooperate with the red guards in commanding the battle. Rongshi nunnery thrived and abandoned for more than 300 years. After liberation, the temple is decadent and dilapidated. There is an ancient temple hundreds of meters south of Rongshi temple, which is called "Yongfu Temple". After the reform and opening up, the religious policy has been implemented. Yongfu temple was relocated to Rongshi nunnery to meet the needs of the county's urban construction planning, and the new temple was rebuilt, which is called "Rongshi Yongfu Temple". It was rebuilt in 1989. After ten years, a Buddhist temple with a total construction area of more than one thousand square meters has been built, including Daxiong hall, Tianwang hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Dicang Pavilion, Dadian zushi hall and song Chan zushi hall. The stele corridor and supporting facilities have been built. Rongshi scenic spot is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and luxuriant trees. The giant stone embraces the ancient banyan, and the ancient banyan plate is a huge stone, which is a beautiful spectacle. The stone is engraved with the inscription "Rongshi" written by Chen Zonghan, a native of the Qing Dynasty in 1888. It is engraved on the stone with vigorous writing and strong atmosphere. In the winter of 1877, when Zhu Qinghua and others visited banyan stone, they wrote and engraved a poem with seven rhythms: "hold the stone cangrong, seize the power, lift the sky and stand beside the Vatican Palace. A thousand layers of green cover in winter, ten thousand gaps of auspicious light through the blue sky. Wood and stone can still fit together, bamboo and plum allow each other to have the same heart. At present, I have the honor to pay three contracts, and I always cherish my achievements in the fifth middle school.
