Burhatong River

Burgatong River (Manchu: burgatu BirA) is located in Yanji City, Jilin Province. It originates from the halba mountains and flows 194 Li southeast. It flows eastward through the county. The Hailan river carries lots of water from the right bank, turns eastward and northward, meets with the Gaya River, and then flows eastward into the Tumen River. Burhatong Manchu means willow river, which is named for the willows growing on its bank.

General situation of main stream

Buerhatong river originates from the swamp at the east foot of halbaling mountain in Antu County, flows into Tumen River after passing Mingyue Town in Antu County, laodigou town in Longjing County, Chaoyangchuan town and Yanji city to huirengaya river near Gaya village in Hongguang country of Tumen City. It has a total length of 242 kilometers, a drainage area of 7141 square kilometers and an average riverbed gradient of 0.6 ‰.

Yanji city is located in the middle reaches of burhatong River, with a river length of 18.7 kilometers and a drainage area of 121.97 square kilometers. At 10m upstream of Yanji bridge, the flow velocity is 3.5m/s in case of extraordinary flood, the water surface is 120m wide, the water depth is 1.1m, and the flow velocity is 1.0m/s. In dry season, the water surface is 34 meters wide, the water depth is 0.7 meters, the velocity is 0.5 m / s, and the maximum discharge is 2630 m3 / S (1965). 17 m3 / s in dry season (1959). The annual average discharge is 19.6 m3 / s, and the annual runoff is 617 million m3. The upper reaches of Yanji bridge covers an area of 3420 square kilometers, with an average runoff depth of 172 mm (132 mm in the city. The average runoff through the urban area is 589 million cubic meters, and the highest water level is 1.71 meters, with a flow of 1550 cubic meters per second).

Main tributaries

Yanji River, originated at the east foot of 876.6 mountain peak in Badao Township, Longjing County, flows from north to South and joins burhatong River 650 meters downstream of Gongyuan bridge in Yanji city. The total length from watershed to river mouth is 47.7 km, and from river source to river mouth is 46.8 km. The drainage area in Yanji city is 231.2 km2, accounting for 61% of the total area of the city. Yanji river passes through Yanji and Xing'an townships, with a length of 26.4 km, a slope of 8.6 ‰, an average annual runoff depth of 140 mm and an average annual runoff of 40700 m3.

Hailan River (Hailan River) originates from the east slope of Qingshan Beizhen in Helong county and flows through Helong town. It flows from the north of Longjing county to Bailong Township in Yanji city. It is 134 km long from watershed to estuary, 132 km long from source to estuary, with a drainage area of 2936 square kilometers. The drainage area in the city is 25.97 square kilometers. The length of the river flowing through the city is 7:5 km, and the river slope is 2 ‰, with an average gradient of 2 ‰ The width is 80-100m, the annual average flow is 13.8m3/s, the average runoff depth is 148mm, and the runoff is 436 million m3.
