Sun Dashi art museum is located on the North Bank of Yuqiu Lake in Gaotang, Shandong Province. It was jointly built by the people's Government of Gaotang county and Mr. Sun Dashi. With a land area of 2088 square meters and a total construction area of 1200 square meters, the museum has an antique courtyard style, with East and West courtyards. The West courtyard is divided into North southwest exhibition hall, corridor, stele wall, four floor hexagonal pavilion, etc.; the east courtyard is Mr. Sun Dashi's living room, studio, etc.

Sun Dashi Art Museum

It was jointly invested by the people's Government of Gaotang County, Shandong Province and Mr. Sun Dashi in 1992. It is subordinate to the culture and Sports Bureau of Gaotang county. It covers an area of 2086 square meters and a building area of 1200 square meters. In the spring of 2004, the county government invested again in the expansion, with a total area of 3640 square meters and a construction area of 2400 square meters. The whole building is in the style of antique two-way courtyard with blue brick. The backyard is a two-story building connected by a long corridor. There are offices, three exhibition halls, reception room, academic lecture hall, calligraphy and painting creation room, rest room, tablet wall and warehouse. The museum collects and displays sun Dashi's fine paintings, more than 80 precious cultural relics and works of exchange with many famous artists.

On July 29, 2020, the award ceremony of the city's "wanghong punch in place" was held in Linqing City, sponsored by the Publicity Department of Liaocheng municipal Party committee and the Municipal Cultural Tourism Bureau. As one of the nine units recommended by Gaotang county to Liaocheng City, sun Dashi art museum stands out among the 85 units participating in the selection activities in the city and won the silver award of "wanghong punch in place" in the city, ranking the first in Gaotang county.

Sun Ying, born in November 1919, is a landscape painter in Gaotang, Shandong Province. His representative works include landscape, magnificent mountains and rivers, stone bone song Ge, etc. He once served as chairman of the overseas Chinese Federation of the Ministry of culture, director of the Chinese Artists Association, research librarian of the Central Museum of culture and history, and academician of the Chinese Painting Academy.

Exhibits

On August 19, 1995 and September 22, 1999, Mr. Sun selflessly donated to the people's Government of Gaotang county the fine works of calligraphy and painting, cultural relics, Longteng inkstone, books, furniture, living rooms, etc., which he had created and collected all his life, and displayed them permanently in his art museum. His works span a long period of time, earlier than 1943 and later than 1995. His works have a wide range of genres and contents, including traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy supplies, watercolor, ink painting on cloth, sketch, etc. In addition to fine paintings and calligraphy, there is also the world's first inkstone spectacle. The world's first inkstone, also known as Longteng giant inkstone, was designed by Wei Xiyuan and Liu Quansheng of Xiyuan stone carving factory in Yixian County, Hebei Province, and carved by Liu Wencai for three years. Wei and Liu had heard of Mr. Sun's great name and were moved by his character and paintings. In order to make the Juyan have a suitable destination, they volunteered to dedicate the inkstone to sun Dashi Art Museum as a permanent memorial. The inkstone, weighing 10 tons, has a length of 4.43 meters and a width of 2.62 meters. It is carved from a whole huge stone. It has 87 dragons, three big dragons symbolizing three municipalities directly under the central government, 28 medium dragons symbolizing 28 provinces and autonomous regions, 56 small dragons symbolizing 56 nationalities, and Yellow River, great wall, Ruiyun Junshi, Cangsong penholder, etc. The whole giant inkstone symbolizes the long history, unity and greatness of the Chinese nation. It can be said that it has profound meaning, fine engraving, world wonders and unique stone carving. There are not only the best inkstones in the world, but also various kinds of inkstones of different sizes.

Since its opening to the outside world in February 1996, the museum has received thousands of people from central, provincial and local leaders and celebrities from all walks of life, and has held and co organized more than ten exhibitions of various kinds of calligraphy and painting. CCTV and provincial TV stations visited the museum several times to shoot special topics and news, and many newspapers and periodicals also reported on the museum. The museum has become one of the tourist attractions in the province, an important window for the county's external publicity and spiritual civilization construction, a comprehensive painting and calligraphy base integrating painting and calligraphy collection, painting and calligraphy exchange and painting exhibition, and a home and Activity Center for painting and calligraphy lovers in the county. The museum plays an irreplaceable role in making Gaotang county the hometown of the whole country.
