Jiubujiang National Geopark

Jiubujiang National Geopark is located in the east of you County, on the west side of the middle section of Luoxiao mountains at the junction of Hunan and Jiangxi. Xiangdong railway and national highway 106 pass through the west side of the park. Jiubujiang Geopark in you county is about 170 kilometers away from Changsha, covering a total area of 232 square kilometers, with more than 120 medium-sized caves and tiankengs.

The most important feature of this scenic spot is the diversification of tourism functions. There are not only dozens of square kilometers of Jiuxian lake, but also many huge karst caves, natural Xianrenqiao karst landform, forest oxygen Ba tour and so on. The forest coverage rate of the park is 96%, which maintains a nearly primitive ecological environment and is rich in animal and plant resources. It is one of China's subtropical complex ecosystems and important biological gene pools. The park is mainly composed of karst caves, underground rivers, Tiankeng, canyons, Tianshengqiao, waterfalls, lakes, paleontological fossils and other geological heritage landscapes, supplemented by rich ecological and cultural landscapes, integrating scientific and aesthetic values.

The park is located in the east of you County, Hunan Province, on the west side of the middle section of Luoxiao mountain range at the junction of Hunan and Jiangxi, covering an area of 193 km2. The terrain is 150-1217m above sea level. Xiangdong railway and national highway 106 pass through the west side of the park.

The park is a large-scale comprehensive Geopark with karst cave, underground river, Tiankeng, canyon, Tianshengqiao, waterfall, lake, paleontological fossils and other geological relic landscape as the main body, supplemented by rich ecological landscape and humanistic landscape, integrating scientific value and aesthetic value.

Typical, unique and complete karst peak cluster Valley landform, karst cave and underground river system are developed in the park. It is one of the most complete sites of karst geomorphic system in China.

The surface and underground karst landforms are diverse in form and rich in landscape, including peak cluster, karst hill, karst valley, Blind Valley, depression, funnel, stone forest, stone bud, Tianshengqiao, Tiankeng, shaft, karst cave, underground river, etc., with distinct development characteristics and orderly combination. The formation process, development stage, development law and development characteristics are systematic and complete. It is a typical representative of karst peak cluster Valley landform in the middle subtropical zone of eastern China.

There are many caves in the park, which is the easternmost and largest cave group in Hunan and even in China. The multi-layer tunnels are connected to form a large-scale three-dimensional labyrinth cave network. The karst cave is rich in landscape and unique in shape. There are more than ten kinds of chemical sediments with high abundance. There are also a large number of underground river erosion, accumulation and cave collapse accumulation landscapes. It can be called "cave world" and "cave Museum" in China, whether measured by cave density, cave scale or cave landscape comparison.

Main attractions

The main scenic spots are: Jiuxian lake, Bailong cave, Pijia cave, peach blossom Valley, Yuwang cave, Red Army Dongchong Arsenal, Hong Xiuquan memorial hall, etc. The Yuwang cave under development is likely to become the longest underground river rafting program in the world.

Jiuxian Lake

Jiubujiang reservoir is located 1.5km southeast of Jiubujiang town government. It is a large national reservoir with a catchment area of 610 square kilometers and a maximum reservoir capacity of 290 million cubic meters. Jiuxian lake has a beautiful environment, clean water and fresh air. It is surrounded by mountains on both sides of the river, with many mountains, verdant trees and long ditches.

Bailong Cave

It is a Carboniferous dolomitic limestone karst cave developed about 300 million years ago. The Bailong cave, which is inlaid in the green and luxuriant mountains, is named after the karst landscape "bailongma" in the cave, and is known as the first cave in eastern Hunan. Bailong cave is famous for its "four wonders": bailongma, ancient river bed, fossils and stone bell music. The "first pillar in the world" in the cave is as high as 29 meters, which is the leading pillar in China. The "stone bell music" in the concert hall extols the magic of stone singing that has never been heard before. The stalactites here can knock out a variety of music.

Peach blossom Valley

It is an ancient river course with a total length of more than 2000 meters. In the valley, the environment is quiet, the vegetation is luxuriant, the streams are clear, the Bitan waterfalls, the rocks are perforated, all kinds of strange birds and animals, rare plants and precious medicinal materials can be seen everywhere. In spring, cherries and azaleas are popular all over the mountain; in autumn, kiwifruit and wild grape are hanging all over the valley. In the natural Valley, there are main scenic spots such as mountain people, welcome stone, Shuangliu stone, Luoyu Liucui, wudaiquan, shuangshimen, etc.

Xianrenqiao scenic spot
