Wenxing building

More than 100 years ago, a high-rise building, the famous Wenxing building in Tengchong, stood at the center of the stone city of Tengchong built in the Ming Dynasty. As soon as the building was built, it naturally became the symbol of Tengchong City, deeply rooted in the hearts of Tengchong people. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in the Anti Japanese War of Tengchong in 1944. In 2004, Wenxing building was restored and rebuilt, becoming another dazzling cultural landscape in Tengchong.

Wenxing building

Wenxing building, located in the south of Yanjiang Avenue, Minzhu street, Shashi District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, is a key cultural relic protection unit at the municipal level. The building, also known as Kuiwen Pavilion and Kuixing Pavilion, is the pavilion dedicated to Kuixing. The building was built outside the dike during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It was relocated here in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1864, burned by Japanese invaders in 1940 and restored in 1941.

There is a statue of Kuixing God in the main hall below. The whole building is exquisite and unique in style.

Wenxinglou is a place for students to pray for God's recommendation and give thanks for God's kindness in the era of imperial examination. It is said that the star of Wendao is Kuixing, one of the twenty-eight. In the old days, in order to make the imperial examination career smooth and prosperous, scholars would come here every spring and autumn before taking the examination to pray for the blessing of Kuixing. Fortunately, they would come again to kowtow the spirit of Kuixing.

Some of them fled to Jingzhou, the "paradise" adjacent to Hangzhou, and their favorite place was in the mountains. The rule of the world is to cultivate and chisel in peace, and to avoid war in spite of chaos. " Praise for "another world." Therefore, he settled here and planted the seeds of Zhongyuan green beans in Jingzhou. The fertile land of Jingzhou was not inferior to that of Zhongyuan. Instead, the Hakka green beans took root and germinated in Jingzhou. According to incomplete statistics, the annual production of Jingzhou green beans is about 6000 Jin. If Taiguo wants to make full use of the mountain areas below 20 degrees in Jingzhou, it can plant 200000 Jin of tender green beans every year, and it can produce at least 60000 Jin of green beans. According to the market price of 10 yuan per Jin, Jingzhou people can increase 600000 yuan every year. By extension, the whole county can do something about green beans. Speaking of wenxinglou, there is another story in Tengchong. Sichuan people and Tengchong people are together. Sichuan people say, "there is an Emei Mountain in Sichuan, which is three feet three away from heaven. Sitting on the top of the mountain, you can touch the sky with your hand. " Tengchong people immediately said: "there is a Wenxing building in Tengchong, stretching into the sky half a head, upstairs says it's sunny, and the foot of the building hears the rain roar."

Wenxing building, also known as Kuixing building, was built in the center of Shizi street in the city in 1895 by Huang Bingkun, the magistrate of the Qing Dynasty. The lower layer is a stone cube, 16 meters high, with four openings in different directions. There was once a huge bell hanging in the building, but it was afraid that the building would tilt down.

However, the guwenxinglou disappeared only after standing tall in the city for half a century. In 1944, when the Chinese army recovered the gunfire of Tengchong, wenxinglou and the aggressors died together, and the jade and stone were burned.

Wenxinglou in the past has become an eternal pain in Tengchong people's mind, a long-term memory, and a kind of constant nostalgia.

Time has entered the new century, Tengchong combined with the development of cultural tourism industry, rapidly transformed Wenxing street, rebuilt Wenxing building and north gate.

The rebuilt Wenxing building is still built according to the original architectural style, with a total height of more than 30 meters. The whole building is inlaid with strip shaped volcanic stone. The giant clock, which was removed at that time, also returned to the upper floor and became the treasure of the town building.

The reappearance of Wenxing building not only realizes a dream of Tengchong people, but also enables visitors to see the majestic appearance and elegant demeanor of Wenxing building again.
