Gaolan scenic spot is located in Gaolan village, Xingshan County, Yichang City, Hubei Province. Zhaojun is located in the hometown of Yichang to Shennongjia halfway (Xingshan Gaolan Lianghekou trunk road), known as "Shili Gallery". The scenic spot is 90km away from Yichang, 100km away from Shennongjia, 90km away from the Three Gorges Dam and 30km away from Xiling Gorge. The scenic spot takes the two estuaries at the confluence of Gaolan River and Xiayang River as the center, covering an area of more than 20 square kilometers.

Gaolan wofoshan scenic spot was developed in 2008. The scenic spots include wofoshan, jiangjunzhu, dianjiangtai, xiantiandong, Hongshishan, baiyansong, yuanyangshi, qipanzhu, etc. at the same time, the tourist toilet, tourist reception center, tourist restaurant, parking lot and other infrastructure have been newly built, with a reception capacity of 50000 people.

In December 2018, the State Council approved the 18th batch of National Water Conservancy Scenic spots, including Yichang Gaolan River Water Conservancy Scenic spot.

Development history

In 2007, the comprehensive tourism development project of Gaolan scenic area started to implement.

In 2008, after the development of the scenic spot, it has become a tourist attraction in the tourism industry. At the same time, it has newly built infrastructure such as tourist toilet, tourist reception center, tourist restaurant and parking lot, with a reception capacity of 50000 person times.

Gaolan is located in Xingshan County. About 30 kilometers to the south, it is Xiling Gorge of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. The scenic spot takes the two estuaries at the confluence of Gaolan River and Xiayang River as the center, covering an area of more than 20 square kilometers.

Xingshan County has a subtropical continental monsoon climate. The annual average frost free period is 272 days for low mountain, 215 days for semi high mountain and 163 days for high mountain. The annual average total solar radiation is 99 kcal / cm2, and the seasonal distribution is more in summer and less in winter. The total solar radiation from April to September is 64 kcal / cm2, accounting for 64.7% of the whole year. The average sunshine hours is 1682.8 hours and the average sunshine percentage is 38%. The annual average precipitation is 900-1200 mm, and the absolute precipitation is abundant, but the spatial and temporal distribution is different. The north is more than the south, the high mountains are more than the low mountains, and the summer is more than the autumn, winter and spring.

Wofoshan

Gaolan Wo Foshan is located in Gaolan scenic area, Xingshan County, Yichang City, Hubei Province.

The most wonderful scenery of Gaolan scenic spot is the forest of Qifeng. Many of these peaks have animal like shapes, so some of them are named after animals, such as Luotuofeng, kongqueling, yuanyangshi, ape ridge and so on. Other peaks are also very strange. One of them is called chessboard peak, which is a slightly circular peak with tens of meters high and surrounded by cliffs. At the top of the peak, there is a square stone that looks like a chessboard, and even has squares and pieces.

As the representative of Gaolan mountain is a mountain called Sleeping Buddha. From a distance, it looks like a Buddha with a big stomach is sleeping soundly on his back. The outline of the Buddha's forehead, nose and mouth are very clear and lifelike.

Gaolan lies in Foshan for 9 kilometers, which can be called "the first Foshan in the world".

Roar to the sky

Chaotianhou is a national 4A level drifting scenic spot. It is the most exciting drifting river section in the province. It has become the international drifting competition site of Yichang natural waters in China. After six years of operation and construction, the project has invested more than 75 million yuan in fixed assets, received 300000 tourists and achieved a comprehensive tourism income of 250 million yuan.

Chaotianhou drifting is 6.5 km long with a drop of 148 meters. It passes through such scenic spots as wofoshan, baxianjin, jiangjunzhu and chaotianhou.

Zhaojun Village

Zhaojun village ancient Han culture tourist area is located in the middle of the road from Yichang to Shennongjia on the north side of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Wang Zhaojun was a palace maid of the Yuan emperor of the Western Han Dynasty. The Yuan emperor married her to Xiongnu, which was called "Zhaojun and Qin" in history. Wang Zhaojun has made great contributions to the harmony between the Han and Hungarian nationalities and the enhancement of national unity, so he has been praised by history. Her hometown is on the way from Zigui to Xingshan. It is said that the origin of the name of Xiangxi River is also related to Wang Zhaojun. It is said that Wang Zhaojun went back to her hometown to visit her relatives before leaving the fortress. She washed her face in this stream. Since then, the stream has been fragrant all the year round and is known as Xiangxi.

The "two committees" of Gaolan village guide the villagers to speed up the development of labor and catering services. Every drifting season, 80% of the labor in the scenic spot comes from Gaolan village.

Relying on tourism resources to adjust the industrial structure is another practice of Gaolan village. The village hired experts from the Three Gorges Vocational and technical college to organize agricultural technology training. It has held five practical technology training classes for the villagers, trained more than 200 people, trained 16 farmers specializing in breeding and planting, and cultivated a large number of new farmers who are educated, skilled and able to operate.

To this end, they reformed tea products and built high-quality organic tea garden and the first characteristic sightseeing agricultural garden in the county, which played a great catalytic role in modern agricultural management concept and opened up a new way for farmers to increase their income. Walnut trees are planted in the slope fields of the village, which not only conserves water and soil, but also has long-term economic benefits. Grass is planted under the trees to develop livestock and poultry breeding. The whole village has planted 600 mu of walnut trees, developed 100 mu of Alpine vegetables and 50 mu of taro.
