Human history

Deep at the foot of the lake, there is a stone reef called "Longyu", which looks like a black dragon holding its head high. The old version of Fuqing county annals said: "the lake God is very smart. According to historical records, as early as the Tang Dynasty, this was the place where the imperial court herded horses. The origin of the name

Myths and legends

After a fierce fight, the young penholder died together with the black dragon and the water demons. They all turned into scenery in the lake. They just had 36 feet, so they were named 36 foot lake. After a long period of desalination, seawater has become today's fresh water lake.

Canglong Zhanhai Dragon Palace

The old generation said, "if the penholder falls into the water, it will float three times and sink three times. If it survives, it will be blessed." The penholder said, "what's the blessing? Now that the villagers are killed, I will not get rid of the dragon and swear not to be a man! "

Hearing this, the lame old generation was secretly happy and said, "you're not young. You're not young. If you can hold the iron pole in my hand, you will be able to get rid of the dragon. The penholder was not on guard, and she was unable to extricate herself from the mud. The penholder gave three fingers to Princess carp, which made her unable to move. Seeing that the penholder was trapped in the mud, Canglong spat out fireworks and burned the penholder to death. At this time, the lame old man came to see this scene, filled his chest with anger, raised the iron pole, and broke the back of the dragon. The Dragon let out a scream and sank into the water, only revealing the dragon's head and breathing. As soon as turtle spirit and snake monster saw that the situation had gone, they fled in confusion and accidentally knocked down on the lakeside mountain.

The lame old generation, who has great powers, turned out to be the immortal Tieguai Li. Today, tieguaishi is still on the mountain. It is said that tieguaishi's crutch changed the dragon's head into "Longyu" and Longji into "bamboo rafts", also known as "Diaoyutai". "Carp reef" is the embodiment of carp princess. Turtle mountain and Snake Mountain are the result of turtle spirit and snake monster. The penholder, which has made great contributions to the elimination of evil, has also become a "penholder pool" towering on the lakeside. Since then, the Bay has become a 36 foot lake, separated from the sea by a long beach, becoming the largest freshwater lake in Fujian. It is said that the beach was formed by the penholder following Li Tieguai's instructions and blocking the harbor with the mast.
