Qugu Temple
Qugu temple, built on the mountain, was originally called "nieburizong". It was built by the yogi nianqin (i.e. nieboda achiever) and got its name. It is also known as "Qugu Temple" because it is mainly used for stone sculptures of the self shaped wuliangshou Buddha (Qugu).
1 Introduction
Qugu temple, located in Pulan County in Ali area, is located in the north of the county and the west of gangrenboqie peak, which is the first temple on the way to the mountain.
2 History
According to legend, wuliangshou Buddha is a yogi who was invited by Xianai Lake in the western karxia kongxingzhou and offered it to King Zede of Guge in a temple of Guge. Later, when the God deszan incarnated as seven zogeists in India and came to the temple for almsgiving, the monks in the temple not only did not give almsgiving, but also insulted him. The seven zogei immediately turned into seven wolves and transported wuliangshou Buddha to Qugu temple with divine transformation. The Guge people were puzzled when they found that the Buddha was missing. They didn't know that the Buddha was in Qugu temple until chizhaxizaba, the king of Guge. They forced it back to Qugu Temple by force. However, the Buddha was too heavy and only moved to the lower part of Qugu temple. When it was disintegrated with a spear, the Buddha yelled. The Guge soldiers were so scared that they left the Buddha and took away banqin naroba's conch and big copper pot. When Guge soldiers cook tea, God deszan turns the tea in the pot into blood. He flies into the air with the open copper pot and pours the tea on the top of the mountain behind the temple. The mountain turns red and Guge soldiers flee in a panic. A few days later, when the housekeeper of Qugu temple was collecting firewood, he found a Buddha statue among the rocks. The Buddha statue said to the housekeeper, "carry me back to the temple." The housekeeper said, "so many soldiers can't move. How can I carry them?" The Buddha said, "you can do it!" The housekeeper half credulously mentioned the Buddha statue. If it was light as a leaf, he would welcome it to the temple and offer it again. Qugu Buddha is still worshipped in this temple. In addition, there are also statues of Sakyamuni, Buddhist scriptures of ganzhur, and remains of Awang Langjie, an eminent monk of the Kagyu sect.
Restoration of Sanqu ancient temple
Qugu temple was destroyed during the cultural revolution and most of its cultural relics were lost. It was rebuilt in 1985. There are many holy signs around the temple: on the cliff where the temple is located, there are traces of naroba conch and copper pot flying into the sky, and nearby there is Jitun spring; under the temple, there are protruding rocks, Tara footprints, langqinbaipu (elephant hermit cave) and "Dingji Zunsheng pagoda" symbolizing Maitreya Buddha palace. It is said that master lianhuasheng practiced here and buried a hidden place. From here to the northwest, along the narrow valley, you can reach the longevity three Zun peak. The seven peaks nearby are 75 black sky palace, 80 Indian Yoga palace, and seven father and brother symbolizing Gesar. From here, you can cross the Lacqu River and go on. On the shady side in front of you, there is a colorful stream called Gangdise Ganlu. Several nearby peaks symbolize gongbeng palace, yak and hound.
