Xima Bridge

There is an old stone bridge on Gongan road in Wenzhou City, which is called "Xima bridge". A folk legend related to this bridge has been handed down for hundreds of years and is still popular today. This is the story of Wenzhou southern opera Liu Wenlong Ling Huajing. Wenzhou people call it "Xima Qiaotou Jitang rice". Wenzhou folk art "singing dragon boat" has this track, which was later transplanted by Daoqing. In the 1950s, I heard the famous Daoqing artist Xu Bangzhong sing, which was quite wonderful.

Name of Hangzhou Bridge

Ximaqiao, ximaqiao West out of Wulin gate straight street. Across the river (already annihilated), near the water gate of Wulin, formerly known as the bridge, also known as the fishing bridge. Song Zhi called the shuimen front bridge a military bridge or a small slanting bridge. However, since the Qing Dynasty, it was only named Xi Ma, but never heard of the army. I don't know where the name of horse washing comes from, but scholars recite many poems.

Located in the north of Wulin street, it starts from Stadium Road in the South and stops in the north. Volume 7 of Hangzhou Fu Zhi of the Republic of China: "Xima bridge, facing the water gate of Wulin in the north.". Song Zhi was called suspension bridge. During the period of the Republic of China, after Meidong Gaoqiao road went directly to the West Street, another bridge was built to open the road to traffic. It was also called Xima bridge, so it was called laoxima bridge. Because of the name of the bridge, the lane disappeared in 1983 when Stadium Road was widened.

Source of play

There is an important play in the dramas of song and Yuan Dynasties called "Liu Wenlong Ling Huajing", also called "Liu Xibi Jinchai Ji". The script has been lost, but the story was widely spread in Wenzhou. Wenzhou people used to call it "Xima bridge". Xima bridge is the place where the story takes place. This bridge is located in Wenzhou City. It was built by a prince Xima in the Northern Song Dynasty. In 1975, in Chaoan County, Guangdong Province, the Ming Dynasty Xuande edition Liu Xibi's story of the golden hairpin was unearthed. The content of the play, place names and names of people all prove that it is the same story as the popular "Xima bridge" in Wenzhou. "Xi Ma Qiao" is adapted accordingly. As a popular cultural commodity at that time, Nanxi has been a treasure of ancient Chinese art for thousands of years, and some of its representative plays have been adapted for a long time. Long acting depends on adaptation, and the purpose of adaptation is always to "connect" the audience at that time. This may be the reason why the cultural gene of a nation has been passed down and developed from generation to generation. Based on this understanding, the play adapts the original work boldly and reconstructs the characters and plot on the basis of maintaining the original story framework.

Synopsis

Liu Wenlong, a Wenzhou scholar, went to Beijing for an exam. On the third day of marriage, he separated from his wife Xiao Yueying and asked his cousin song Xiang to take care of his wife and mother on the Xima bridge. The number one scholar in Wenlong high school was granted the title of envoy of Hefan by the emperor and immediately sent to Xiongnu. When he arrived, he sent a schoolboy to send a letter back to his hometown. Unfortunately, on the way, people and horses fell off the cliff. The Xiongnu princess fell in love with him at first sight, so Shan Yu was the matchmaker for her beloved daughter, but Wen long refused. Sixteen years later, for fear of delaying her daughter's youth, Shan Yu ordered her to get married. Wen long, who is homesick for his wife, runs away on horseback on the day of marriage. The princess chased by the horse felt that Wenlong's wife was determined. She gave her a silver medal and a BMW to pass the test, and let her go. Shan Yu catches up and shoots an arrow in her anger. The princess blocks the arrow and asks her father to let Wen long return to the Han Dynasty. There is a wife and mother in my hometown. I've been waiting for 16 years without any news. I rely on my cousin song Xiang to send me to bear firewood and live hard. Although song Xiang had a love affair with his cousin, he never revealed it. Liu's mother, who doesn't know her son's life or death, is on her 60th birthday. She is determined to let her daughter-in-law marry song Xiang, her nephew, with the remorse for her son. Yueying burns incense on the Xima bridge to offer a living sacrifice for her husband. Then she is ordered by her mother to remarry. Wenlong returned to the imperial court and won the emperor's commendation. He was appointed the magistrate of his hometown. He met his family on the Xima bridge and was scolded by his wife and mother. When song Xiang saw his love, he boarded the Oujiang boat and left secretly.
